마르크 샤갈의 조형세계와 그 상징성

Abstract

현실의 풍경이면서 동시에 초현실적인 것을 느끼게 하는 공간과 시간의 자유로운 이동으로, 독창적인 이미지를 연출하는 샤갈 예술은 자신만의 조형세계를 만들어낸 상징의 요체로서 무중력이 감당하는 어떤 요소에 의하여 환상적이면서 독특한 화면을 보여준다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 마르크 샤갈의 작품이 표출해낸 상징적인 의미의 조형언어, 그리고 과거와 현재라는 시공간을 초월하여 동일한 화면 위에 표출해낸 시각적 변주에 대하여 샤갈의 다양한 형태의 작품들과 함께 연구해 보았다. 샤갈은 자신의 자전적인 이야기들, 즉 사실적인 내용들을 초현실적인 방식으로 형상화시킨다. 그리고 자신의 감성논리에 따라 강렬한 색채로서 화면에 나타내는데, 그러한 그의 조형세계는 획일화된 문명사회에서 현대인들이 되찾고 싶어하는 꿈과 환상을 돌려줌으로써 즐거움과 함께 위안을 안겨준다. 또한 의식과 무의식의 조화를 통해서 우상화된 기계문명에 대한 인간성의 회복으로 표현되어진다. 샤갈의 조형언어는 현실을 초월한 듯이 인간의 무의식의 세계와 환상의 세계에서 종교 ,향수, 사랑을 주제로 눈에 보이지 않는 것들을 시각화한다. 그래서 동시대의 사람들이 샤갈 회화의 초현실적인 면을 주시하였으나 그는 자신의 조형세계가 초현실주의의 그것과는 다르며 스스로가 추구하는 예술세계는 심적 리얼리즘의 표현이라고 얘기했으며 비현실적이며 비논리적임을 강조했다. 유대인으로 살아온 특수한 환경과 어린 시절부터 접했던 하시디즘 유대교에서 말하는 모든 것들에게는 신성한 빛이 존재한다는 종교적인 영향은, 그의 화면을 원근법의 탈피와 상징적인 이미지로서 미적 감각을 표출하게 하였으며 20세기 회화의 새로운 감각으로 남아있다. 화면을 구성하는 목적을 효과적으로 달성하고 성취하기 위해서 화가는 회화적인 표현에 독자적형식이나 법칙을 발견하고, 과거의 형식이나 법칙을 전례로 답습하면서 창조라는 작업을 하게 된다. 진정한 좋은 작품을 창조해내기 위해서 창조적인 작품을 섭렵하는 과정이 필요할 것이다. 그 작품들에는 변치 않는 조형공간의 공통적인 자율적인 질서가 존재하기 때문이다. 이러한 기본적인 질서를 가지고 자신의 조형언어를 어떤 방식으로든지 무한하게 펼칠 수 있을 때, 새로운 공간에서 새로운 형태를 제시할 수 있을 것이다.|Marc Chagall(1887-1985)'s works perform creative image through space which can be felt both as realism and surrealism at the same time and the free movement of the time. And they express the unique and fantastic canvases by some factors dealing with nongravitation as the cardinal point of the symbol making Chagall's formative world itself. So, this thesis studies Chagall's various types of works in aspects of visual diversity on the same canvas above the formative language that has the symbolic meaning and the space time. Chagall built up the his automatical contents, that is the realistic contents through the ways of surrealism.And his strong colors were expressed on his paintings according to his own theory of sense. So advanced, his formative world gives the pleasure and consolation to the modern who want to restore their dream and fantasy in the uniformized and civilized world. Also, it is represented as the recovery of humanity against the mechanism civilization through the harmony of consciousness and unconsciousness. The formative language of Chagall made visible the unvisible thing - religion, perfume, love - inthe world of unconsciousness and fantasy as if it is superior to the reality. So, the contemporaries gazed at the aspects of the surrealism of Chagall. But Chagall insisted that his own formative world is different from the surrealism,and that his world is an expression of the psychological realism. So, he emphasised that it is fantastic and illogical. He was born and raised Jewish. And Hasidism Judaism has the idea that everything has the divine light. In effects of the religion, his paintings were emerged from the perspective representation, expressed the aesthetic as the symbolic image and accomplished the new art of drawing of the 20th century. To accomplish the purpose to make up canvases effectively, the painters follow in the steps of the original form and methods and find out the unique form and methods simultaneously. And after that it can be a creation of art. For this, theextensive reading process is needed for creating the very good works. Because permanent regularity exists in those formative arts. When the formative which has the basic regularity is expressed through any kinds of methods, the new form can be presented in the new works.
