LNG 직도입의 전망 과 운영방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

This project was carried out to investgate the changes of Liquefied Natural Gas(LNG) market and have a view of what kinds of problems we would have in Korea when POSCO goes into LNG business. In addition, we verified the veiw of POSCO's direct import of LNG in a situation where energy marketchanges abruptly so that we could seek for ways in which POSCO would strengthen the compatitiveness in LNG market.Ulimatelyt, we proposed basic materials about how we should manage POSCO LNG project. The main contents were as follows 1)We investgated various problems and their in fluences which could be expected when POSCO imports directly LNG. 2)We investgated the view of change in energy markets under government's energy policy in the future. 3)We analyzed how LNG market in Korea could be affected by expansion of LNG market in U.S. 4)We investgated POSCO's ability in enegy market by analyzing the change in world gas market. 5)We proposed the strategy of POSCO's LNG project about how POSCO could be compatitive in LNG market. The result was as follows It is very important of POSCO to make a contract to import directly LNG from abroad by public bids because the most important thing when POSCO is to be more competitive over compatitors in Korea is to make raw material cost much lower. In addition, POSCO must invest in researches and develop advanced technology continuously to reduce the productin cost. Those are indispensible conditions POSCO need to have to survive in Market.
