Abstract
In this work we are dealing with an image of Peruvian society proposed by Clorinda Matto de Turner in Aves sin nido. Although it achieved independence, Peru maintained the social structure based on the feudal system. Then, because of the Pacific War, Peru suffered chaos. Faced with the social reality that produced the war, intellectuals felt the need for social change. Clorinda Matto de Turner was one of them. Based on the moral point of view and the positivist idea, she auscultated Peruvian society. As an instrument to change society, the writer emphasized education. Clorinda Matto de Turner aspired to a change in the consciousness of the indians and their exploiters through education. Aves sin nido is the narrative work that conceives the wish of Clorinda Matto de Turner. The novel makes us see our society today and suggests a model of the future society in which all people feel happy. We must remember that Clorinda Matto de Turner was the altruistic intellectual who fulfilled the responsibility of her time, using literary production to highlight the Imminence of social reform.
