Abstract
When “Der zerbrochene Krug” of Heinrich von Kleist came first time to stage in Weimar, people thought it was boring and an example of bad taste. It has been a scandal. But in the early 19th century the public could not understand the contents. They did not understand that the Law had been broken. Today the reception is totally opposite: “Der zerbrochene Krug” is estimated as a classic masterpiece.
