관계 원리로서의 인접성 탐구 : 최근 한국 시인들의 작품을 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구는 근래 관심의 대상이 되고 있는 ‘가족’, 즉 ‘무목적적 모둠’으로부터 논의를 시작하였다. 그리하여 그러한 모둠을 이루는 관계의 면면에 ‘인접성’ 기제가 작용하고 있음을 전제하고, 이를 밝히기 위해 최근 시인들의 시 텍스트를 살펴보았다. 인접성은 ‘가까움’과 그 정도를 의미하며, 필연적으로 ‘공간’의 문제를 포함한다. 흔히 ‘관계’에서 주로 언급되는 ‘사랑’, ‘관심’, ‘친(親)함’, ‘정(情)’ 등은 공간적인 가까움/멂의 원리가 작용하는 문제다. 인접성은 또한 ‘연결’과 ‘접속’과도 관련된다. 존재는 근본적으로 상호 의존적이기 때문이다. 하지만 인터넷과 같이 물리적 공간을 함께 점유하는 접촉이 없는 관계 맺음은 형이상학적 자아를 강화할 뿐, 상호 호혜적인 관계를 맺을 수 없다. 이는 유토피아를 끊임없이 실제화하려는 시도에서 헤테로토피아가 억압되고, 그럼으로써 존재의 면모가 단순화되어 일방적 관계가 되는 것과 같다. 이러한 맥락에 저항하는 주체는 ‘살’의 감각에 민감해지는데, 이는 직접 접촉을 통한 상호작용이 상대적으로 더 많은 정보량을 소통하고, 그럼으로써 감정이입과 공감, 그리고 이질성에의 직관 등이 더 잘 이루어지게 만들기 때문이다. 이러한 조건은 더 나아가 윤리성까지도 담보하는 태도가 되기도 하기에, 결론적으로 인접성의 확보는 관계 맺음에 매우 중요한 기제로 작용한다고 말할 수 있다. 그러나 여기서 중요한 것은, 이는 어디까지나 메타적인 언어의 사용이 동반된 주체의 참여가 있을 때만이 비로소 가능하다는 사실이다. 그때 이른바 서사가 창안되고 그로써 동질성과 이질성이 공존하여, 결과적으로 상호 호혜적인 ‘함께 삶’이 지속될 수 있기 때문이다.

This study started with ‘family’, which is the object of interest, ‘group without purpose.’ Thus, the premise of ‘adjacency’ mechanisms on the face of such a group relationship was examined. Adjacency means ‘close’ and to the extent that it inevitably involves the problem of ‘space.’ The conceptual words often mentioned in ‘relationship’ work on the principle of spatial ‘near / far.’ Adjacency is also related to ‘connection.’ Because human beings are fundamentally interdependent. However, forming a relationship without a contact that occupies physical space together, such as the Internet, only strengthens the metaphysical self and cannot form mutually beneficial relationships. It is as if the heterotopia is suppressed in an attempt to constantly actualize the utopia, thereby simplifying the aspect of existence and becoming a unilateral relationship. Subjects who resist this context become sensitive to the sense of "flesh." This is because interactions through direct contact communicate a relatively larger amount of information, thereby making empathy and intuition to heterogeneity better. Therefore, empathy through adjacency acts as a very important mechanism for establishing relationships. Furthermore, securing closeness can be an attitude that can secure ethics. However, what is important here is that this is only possible when there is a subject's participation accompanied by the use of meta-language. This is because so-called narratives can be created ‘life together’ can continue.
