소설 우리들의 일그러진 영웅 속 인물들의 철학적 병에 대한 임상철학적 처방과 적용

Abstract

이 글은 논자의 다른 논문을 이어 작성한 것이다. 전편은 임상철학의 관점에서 소설 『우리들의 일그러진 영웅』(이하 소설) 속 등장인물들이 걸린 철학적 병을 진단하였다. 이 글에서는 전편의 진단을 바탕으로 철학적 해독제를 처방하고 적용한다. 논자는 김영진이 주장한 임상철학의 관점과 철학적 병의 진단 그리고 처방의 방식을 따랐다. 이 글에서는 김영진의 처방에 정확도와 치료효과를 높이기 위하여 1) 전편의 진단을 바탕으로 처방의 방향과 원칙을 정한 후에 적절한 철학적 해독제를 선택하고 처방을 구성하였다. 그리고 2) 김영진의 처방 방식에 철학상담적 요소를 더해 철학적 병에 걸린 대상들이 스스로 치료할 수 있도록 철학적 산파의 입장에서 그들을 돕는 철학상담의 형식을 취했다. 처방의 대상은 소설 속 약자인 반 아이들이며, 이들에게 공동체주의적 처방을 할 것이다. 처방의 첫 단계에서는 반 아이들이 연고적 자아임을 인식함으로서, 공통의 소속감을 바탕으로 연대하여 개인선과 공동선을 선택할 수 있는 신념적 기초와 동기를 마련한다. 두 번째 단계에서는 반 아이들이 도덕적 행위자로서 개인적 목적과 목표에 도달하는 방법으로 매킨타이어의 철학적 지혜인 서사적 탐색을 원용한다. 마지막 단계에서는 약자들이 함께 학급의 공공선을 합의하는 과정을 통해서 향후 유사한 사례에도 스스로 자신이 추구하는 가치를 지킬 수 있도록 마이클 샌델의 자기통치(self-government)의 지혜를 원용할 것이다.

In this paper, I try to follow up my article. In the former article, I diagnosed characters in the novel, Our Twisted Hero, from the viewpoint of clinical philosophy. In this paper, I prescribe and practice philosophical antidotes based on the diagnosis performed in the former article. I follow the viewpoint, the way of prescription and diagnosis suggested by Young-Jin Kim in his clinical philosophy. In order to heighten an effect in Kim’s clinical philosophy, this paper is composed of two steps: 1) suggestion of directions, of principles, and of proper philosophical antidote based on the diagnosis of the former article, 2) philosophical counseling to help the counselees solve their problems with philosophical midwifery. According to three steps, the communitarian prescription is given to students in the novel, the weak. In the first step of the prescription, the students prepare the basic belief and motivation to become aware of encumbered selves, to select private good and common good, and to band together based on the common sense of belonging. In the second step, they, as moral agents, use the narrative quest of Alasdair MacIntyre’s philosophical wisdom as the way to their personal goal and aim. In the third step, they utilize the wisdom of Michael Sandel’s self-government in order to preserve their seeking values in a similar cases through making settlements with the weak together.
