周易에서 文의 의미 분석을 통한 인문정신 고찰

Abstract

본 논문은 『周易』 전체에서 文의 의미를 분석하여 현재 우리가 흔히 사용하고 있는 인문의 본의와 그 철학적 진면모를 검토함으로써 『周易』에 담겨있는 인문정신을 고찰하는 데 그 목적을 갖는다. 동양에서 인문은 『周易』 賁卦 「彖傳」에서 가장 먼저 발견할 수 있다. 여전히 논란 중인 「彖傳」 성립시기의 스펙트럼을 전국시대에서 전한시대까지 넓혀서 본다고 하더라도 인문이라는 말은 천문과 함께 『周易』에서 최초로 등장하였다. 이처럼 『周易』에서 유래한 인문에는 현재 우리가 사용하고 있는 文史哲 통합의 스투디아 후마니타티스로만 볼 수 없는 그 나름의 독특한 철학이 담겨있다. 게다가 동서양의 문화와 역사가 다른 만큼 두 용어의 의미도 분명 완전히 합치될 수 없는 것이 사실이다. 주지하다시피 『周易』은 그 자체로 하늘에 대한 인간 이해를 바탕으로 하고 있다는 점에서 종교성과 인문적 요소를 함께 지니고 있다. 그러므로 종교성을 배제한 인문이란 분명 『周易』의 인문정신과는 거리가 있다. 이에 본 논문은 종교의 연속선상에서 천지의 도와 인간 문명적 덕성의 분명한 인식을 통해 성립된 『周易』의 인문정신에 초점을 맞추었다. 아울러 선행연구 분석을 통해 『周易』의 인문정신을 분명히 파악하기 위해서는 인문이 유일하게 등장하고 있는 『周易』 賁卦 「彖傳」 외에도 『周易』 전체에서 산발적이지만 각기 유의미하게 드러나고 있는 文의 의미를 통해 인문의 함의를 고찰하는 작업이 우선적으로 필요하다고 판단하여 본 연구에 착수하게 되었다.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the implications of Wen(文) and Renwen(人文) throughout Zhouyi and to examine the philosophical true meaning of humanities spirit. Renwen(人文) is the first to be found in Zhouyi Tuanzhuan(彖傳). Even if the spectrum of controversial the period of formation of Tuanzhuan has expanded to from the Warring States Period to the Former Han, the term Renwen(人文) first appeared in Zhouyi along with Tianwen(天文). But in fact, the meaning of Renwen(人文) derived from Zhouyi contains its own unique philosophy, which is not only seen as the studia humanitatis of literary-history-philosophy(文史哲) unity. Moreover, as the cultures and histories of the East and the West differ, the meaning of the two terms cannot be completely identical. As you know, Zhouyi is based on human understanding of Tian(天), so it has both religious and humanistic elements. Therefore, the Renwen(人文) that excludes religion is certainly far from the humanities spirit of Zhouyi. So, this paper focused on the humanities spirit of Zhouyi, which was established through the clear perception of the Natural Tao and human civilization virtue in the continuous line of religion. In addition, in order to clearly understand the humanities spirit of Zhouyi through the analysis of prior research, we decided that it was first necessary to examine the implications of the Renwen(人文) through the meaning of Wen(文), which is scattered but significant throughout Zhouyi.
