1980년대 ‘죽음’의 재현양상 연구

Abstract

본 논문의 목적은 1980년대, 국가폭력이 원인이 되어 발생한 ‘사건으로서의 죽음’이 재현되는 양상을 고찰하는 것이다. 특히 죽음을 둘러싼 재현의 장에 있어서 대표와 잔여를 분리․호명하는 포섭과 배제의 이중적 전략이 작동되었음에 주목하고, 다음의 두 가지 연구를 진행했다. 하나는 당대에 생산된 기사와 민주화운동단체들의 성명서․추모사․발기문 등의 자료를 대상으로, 지배권력과 저항세력이 80년대의 죽음을 재현하는 양상을 분석한 것이다. 특히 국가 공동체와 민족․민중 공동체의 경계를 설정하고, 그 공동체의 주권권력을 회복․전복하려는 이들의 정치적 기획이, 죽음을 ‘비국민’과 ‘열사’로 상징화하는 전략을 고찰하였다. 다른 하나는 이 고유명에서 배제된, 죽음의 잔여를 형상화하고 있는 김소진의 소설 ｢열린사회와 그 적들｣과 6월 항쟁 당시 명동성당에서의 농성투쟁을 담은 김동원 감독의 다큐멘터리 을 분석한 것이다. 이 과정에서 87년 6월 항쟁 이후 지배적 담론 속에서 혁명의 ‘곤경’으로 취급되었던 ‘빈민’의 존재와 이들이 꿈꾸었던 ‘민주화’의 가치에 대해 탐색했다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the aspect of 'death as an event' that was caused by the violence of the state in 1980's. In particular, it was noted that a dual strategy of subordination and exclusion, in which representation and remnant were separated from each other in the field of representation surrounding death, was activated, and the following two studies were conducted. One is the analysis of the representation aspect of deaths in the 80's by the power of domination and the resistance of the protesters on the subjects of democratization movement bodies' statements, condolatory addresses, and proposition addresses, etc. In particular, this study set the boundaries between the national community and the nation and the people's community, and examined the strategy of symbolizing death as 'non people' and 'martyr' in the political plans of those seeking to restore and overthrow the sovereign power of the community. The other is Kim So‐jin's novel, "The Open Society and Its Enemies," which symbolizes the remnants of death, which is excluded from the proper noun, and Kim Dong‐won director’s documentary, “Myeongseong, Records of Six Days,” which shows the struggle for aggression in Myeongdong Cathedral at the time of the June Uprising. In this process, this study explored the existence of the 'poor' and the value of 'democratization' they dreamed of, which was treated as a plight of revolution in the dominant discourse after the June Uprising in 1987.
