Abstract
In this paper, we describe the fluid flow analysis for the development of cell culture chamber, which is one of the key components of the cell culture experiments in a microgravity, such as the International Space Station (ISS), 3D clinostat experiments. The effective exchange of medium inside cell culture chamber is a key requirement for cell culture experiment. To confirm these performances, we designed the various shapes of cell culture chambers and simulated it. The simulation conditions are based on the experimental results of previous developed cell culture system. As a result, we was confirmed that the proposed shape has a higher culture exchange rate (about 0.08%) than the DCC. Hence, we suggested the new optimized shape for the development of domestic cell culture chamber.
