Abstract
This study investigates the functional effect of induced sustained release of a water-soluble drug without deterioration of drug efficacy and the use of specific carrier materials. A simplex-ion complex formation of the drug is produced based on the seaweed polysaccharide that carry physiological effects such as anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-viral, anti-mutagenic and immunity enhancement. The specific marine resources used in the experiment were Fucoidan extract and Glycosaminoglycan (GAGs), which is excellent in skin soothing effect and moisturising effect, respectively. Based on the use of such materials, this study has confirmed the formal structure of water-soluble ion complex drug that can be delivered in sustained release to the subject. Furthermore, this study investigates the releasing effect of ion complex of Fuocidan, GAGs and Ca2+, Ba2+ and carries comparative analysis of the newly formed drug to Predniolone drug, which is widely used for dermatitis.
