Abstract

The present study theoretically derived a stage-discharge equation for SMBF Venturi channels by using an energy equation that took approach velocity and energy loss into consideration. When the energy loss correction factor α of the stage-discharge equation derived in the present study was estimated by using existing researchers’ experimental data, it was determined to have a consistent value of approximately 1.07 under the conditions of the present study. When compared with the experiment data, the calculation results of the stage-discharge equation derived in the present study exhibited a favorable error range, within approximately 10%.
