- Abstract
- Currently, because of the increased concerns on environmental crisis and energy cost, more renewable energy sources including solar cell, wind, tidal, biomass, and fuel cell have been well integrated into the smart/ micro-grids in the form of distributed generation (DG). Particularly, the battery energy storage system (BESS) can be absolutely taken for granted as an important role in stabilizing the smart/micro-grids and satisfying adequately supply of high-power/energy. Therefore, this research investigates a comparative study for temperature-dependent electrochemical analysis of grid-connected 10kW BESS with a high voltage. In order to obtain the requirement of a high voltage, this BESS is connected in series using 70 LiFePO4 cells that had a rated capacity of 50Ah (1 rack that consists of 7 trays; 70S1P). Finally, this research describes an effort to provide a fundamental solution for implementation of an optimal high-voltage BESS regardless of thermal effect.
