Abstract
The adsorption equilibriun of 2,4-Dinitrophenol (2,4-DNP) on bamboo activated carbon was studied in terms of temperature and pHs. The properties of bamboo activated carbon was characterized using BET, TG/DTA and SEM analysis. The surface area of bamboo activated carbon was 1,092m2/g and total pore volume was 0.259cc/g. The adsorption amount of 2,4-DNP on bamboo activated carbon increased with decreasing initial pH and temperature of the solution. The maximum adsorption capacity of 2,4-DNP on bamboo activated carbon was 1.183mol/kg. The estimated values for the free energy of adsorption (△Go) were negative, which indicated that a spontaneous process.
