Electromagnetic interference(EMI: 전자파장해) Shielding effectiveness(SE: 차폐효과) Ag-coated Nylon Fiber and Cotton Fiber(은 피복 나일론 섬유와 면섬유)
In this paper, the shielding effectiveness (SE) of electromagnetic interference (EMI) was investigated for hybrid composites with Ag-coated nylon fiber and cotton fiber. We designed and constructed a measuring system, consisting of a network analyzer and a device that serves as a sample holder and at the same time as a transmission medium of incident electromagnetic waves. The results of the EMI shielding experiments showed that the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMSE) values of sandwich type N/C/N and C/N/C specimens were about 70 % higher than N specimens in frequency range of 100 MHz to 2 GHz. The maximum shielding effectiveness value of Co specimen was 42dB at 1.8 GHz, Co/C/Co specimen 60dB at 1.5 GHz and C/Co/C specimen 71dB at 600 MHz, respectively. This is to be considered due to lamination of cotton fiber specimen and the dependence on the electromagnetic wave shielding at the frequency band according to materials.
