Abstract
In this study, the liquid limit tests were conducted on Paju clay with different test methods and different testers and the rest of conditions were the same. To do this, six testers, who already have the experience of liquid limit test, participated and Casagrande method and fall cone test were employed. From the test results, the fall cone test showed 4% higher liquid limit, and the variation of value of each tester was smaller than that of Casagrande. In addition, the level of proficiency of the fall cone test was shown to be stable as the number of experiments increased. In the case of one point methods based on both Casagrande and fall cone test, the liquid limit determined by fall cone test varied with small range compared to the Casagrande, and consequently, the fall cone test provided more stable liquid limit value than that of Casagrande.
