경기도 혁신학교 정책의 성과 : 학교폭력과 학업성취도를 중심으로 일반학교와 비교연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 혁신학교 운영이 초중고 학생들의 학업성취도의 향상과 학교폭력 경감에 유의한 효과가 있는지 일반학교와 비교하여 분석하는데 있다. 학교폭력, 기초학력자료, 교과향상도 자료가 공시된 2013년도 인터넷 학교알리미(www.schoolinfo.go.kr) 사이트를 통해 특성화고, 예체능계고, 분교, 또는 신설학교의 이유로 학력자료가 공시되지 않은 경우를 제외하고 경기도 소재 초등학교 중학교 고등학교 전수를 연구대상으로 선정하였고 통계방법은 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 혁신학교가 일반학교에 비해 학교폭력 비율이 더 높거나 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났으며, 학력 면에서도 혁신학교는 일반학교에 비해 기초학력 수준이나 교과향상도에 있어서 저조하거나 차이를 드러내지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 향후 혁신학교 일반화 과정에 참고할 함의를 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the innovative schools on student achievement and school violence by comparing it with the data of general schools. This study uses data from the internet school information system(www.schoolinfo.go.kr) in 2013. School violence data, basic achievement scores (Korean, Math, English), and subject achievement improvement scores from the system are used for the analysis. Data from a total of 1,214 elementary schools including 94 innovative schools, 583 middle schools including 73 innovative schools, and 289 high schools including 18 innovative schools are analyzed for a regression analysis. Results show that innovative schools tend to present either higher rates in school violence than general schools or no difference between them, and innovative schools tend to show either lower scores in both basic academic scores and achievement improvement scores than those of general schools or no difference between them. Some policy implications are presented for the process of generalization of the innovative school policy.
