노인의 복지서비스 이용이 우울에 미치는 영향 연구

Abstract

The background of this study is that after 2020, the number of deaths in Korea exceeds the number of births, and the aging phenomenon can be expected to accelerate due to the continuing low birth rate and increase in life expectancy. The elderly are at risk of facing various social problems such as social exclusion, elderly depression, and elderly suicide, and among these social problems, the number of elderly people suffering from depression is increasing as the age increases. Therefore, this study tried to investigate the effect of the elderly's use of welfare services on depression and to confirm the mediating effect through family life satisfaction among the many factors affecting the elderly's use of welfare services and depression. To this end, 6,717 people were analyzed by extracting senior citizens aged 65 or older who use welfare services using data from the 17th Korea Welfare Panel Survey conducted by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs in 2022. The results of this study are as follows. First, the use of welfare services by the elderly has been found to affect depression. Health services and care services, which are subordinate factors of welfare services, show that depression increases as the number of times of use increases, and depression decreases as the number of times of use of participating services increases. Second, the higher the satisfaction level of family life, the lower the depression. Third, among the subordinate factors of welfare services, health services and participating services were found to have no mediating effect through family life satisfaction, and only care service was found to have an effect as a parameter through family life satisfaction. Based on these findings, it is meaningful to suggest that future welfare services for the elderly need to be integrated with welfare services that improve psychological and social functions in addition to direct physical services. | 본 연구의 배경은 2020년 이후 우리나라의 사망자 수가 출생아 수를 초과하고 계속되는 저출산, 기대수명의 증가등으로 인해 고령화 현상이 가속화 될 것 으로 예상할 수 있다. 노인들은 상대적으로 사회적 배제, 노인 우울, 노인 자살등 다양한 사회적 문제에 직면할 위험을 가지고 있으며 이러한 사회문제중 노인 우울의 경우 연령이 높아질수록 우울을 겪고 있는 노인들의 수가 증가하고 있는 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구는 노인의 복지서비스 이용이 우울에 미치는 영향을 조사하고 노인의 복지서비스 이용과 우울사이 노인의 우울에 영향을 미치는 많은 요인 중 가족생활 만족을 통한 매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국보건사회연구원에서 실시한 2022년 17차 한국복지패널조사자료를 이용하여 복지서비스를 이용하는 65세 이상 노인을 추출하여 6,717명의 자료를 분석에 투입하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노인의 복지서비스 이용은 우울에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 복지서비스의 하위요인인 건강서비스와 돌봄서비스는 이용횟수가 증가할수록 우울이 증가하고 참여서비스의 경우 이용횟수가 증가할수록 우울이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 매개변수인 가족생활 만족에서 우울은 부적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고 통계적으로도 의미가 있었다. 즉, 가족생활 만족이 높을수록 우울은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 건강서비스와 참여서비스의 경우 가족생활만족을 통한 매개효과가 발생하지 않았으며 돌봄서비스만이 가족생활만족을 통한 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 노인의 복지서비스 이용이 우울에 미치는 영향과 복지서비스와 우울사이 가족생활 만족에 따른 매개효과가 발생하는지에 대하여 살펴보았다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 향후 노인복지서비스는 직접적인 신체서비스 외에도 심리적, 사회적 기능을 향상시킬수 있는 서비스와 함께 이루어져야 하며 개인의 욕구를 충족시킬수 있는 개인 맞춤형 서비스가 더욱 확대되어야 할것으로 보여진다.
