Abstract
This study the demand for machine squat equipment has been increasing recently, but the study was insufficient, so we tried to find out the difference through comparison with bare squat. The study subjects were 11 adult males, and machine squats and bare squats were repeated three times to measure the activity in the main muscles with EMG equipment and to confirm the Fumer shear of the knee joint through x-ray. Statistical analysis was done by paired samples t-test. As a result of EMG analysis, the machine squat activated the knee extensor muscle more than the bare squat, but there was no statistically significant difference. As a result of the x-ray analysis, the machine squat showed a significant difference in the risk of Fumer shear than the bare squat. In conclusion, the machine squat has a greater risk of anterior displacement than the bare squat, but there is no difference in muscle activity of muscle activity, and there is a risk of injury through squat movement.
