둔황 비천(飛天) 캐릭터를 재해석한 그림책 창작 연구

Abstract

Although Korea and China both belong to the East Asian cultural community, they have their own cultural characteristics. Starting from the "Korea-China Cultural Exchange Year" in 2021, the trends of Korea and China have once again follow the trend of global cooperation. In the age of information exchange, modern multicultural communication has cultural significance. After watching the reinterpreted dance programs "Tang Palace Banquet" and "Falling God" broadcast by Henan TV in 2021, the researcher was motivated to create a picture book reinterpreted by Dunhuang Bicheon’s role in modern cultural exchange. In addition, during study in Korea, the researcher became interested in the Korean folk culture, and was deeply impressed by the folk games performances in Korean festivals and the food culture and celebrations in modern Korean markets. In order to help the pubic to care and understand the two inherent cultures of "Dunhuang Bicheon" in China and "Folk Game and Diet" in Korea, the researcher hopes for cultural exchange and development. This study will create a 31-page Korean and Chinese traditional culture picture book with the reinterpreted Dunhuang Bicheon role as the protagonist. In the form of paper, this study analyzes three theoretical contents: Chinese Dunhuang Bicheon, Korean traditional folk culture, and traditional cultural picture book. Based on these theoretical studies, this paper gives full play to the researcher's personality and discusses picture book creation process reinterpreted with illustrations. Through this study, the first is the theoretical research on the history and image of Chinese Dunhuang Bicheon, combined with the theoretical research on Bicheon and Buddhist art. The research results of Bicheon's external image, including body proportion, dynamic posture, expression, hairstyle, clothing, decorative props, action lines, techniques, colors and styles are obtained. Secondly, the traditional Korean folk music, lion dance, fan dance, mask dance and modern Korean market diet are studied. Thirdly, for the traditional cultural picture album, the works of six outstanding writers in Korea and China were selected and analyzed them by dividing them into story, techniques, scenes, characters, and colors to study their characteristics. Finally, the author discusses the process of making traditional picture books based on the originality and individuality of the researchers, including story, techniques, scenes, characters, and colors. This paper summarizes the creation process of Korean-Chinese traditional culture picture books created by researchers with the reinterpreted Dunhuang Bicheon role, and studies the theory, creation process and results of Dunhuang Bicheon, traditional culture picture books and Korean traditional folk culture. Based on the theoretical analysis of traditional cultural picture books and the analysis results of writers' works, the stories, scenes, roles, colors and techniques were investigated. In the researcher's creation, the story reinterprets the Dunhuang Bicheon Character, who travels freely in Korea, with the contents of Chinese Bicheon and Korean folk customs, food and so on. Based on the five colors, the expression technique adopts modern digital transparent watercolor painting, trying to surpass the new expression of the color boundary of the existing Dunhuang murals. Through the album created by the researcher, Korean readers can appreciate the colors and beauty of Dunhuang frescoes through the picture books made in this study, and Chinese readers can also learn about the farm music, mask dance and fan dance that constitute Korean folk customs. Readers in China can learn about Korean culture by incorporating the characteristics of the Korean night market into the picture book. This study is expected to contribute to the theoretical study of Chinese Dunhuang Bicheon, Korean folklore, Korean modern market diet and traditional cultural picture books, as well as the reinterpreted case study of picture book creation. Moreover, through the album created by the researcher, I hope readers in Korea and China can understand Chinese and Korean Bicheon culture. Because of Korea study experience and COVID-19, the researcher was unable to visit the Dunhuang site directly, and conducted this study. In the future, if there is time, this study can be made into animation.|한·중 양국은 같은 동아시아 문화공동체에 속하지만 각자 자국의 문화적 특색을 가지고 있다. 2021년 '한·중 문화교류의 해'를 기점으로 다시 한·중 양국의 움직임은 글로벌 국제협력 추세를 따르고 있으며 이러한 현대의 다문화교류는 정보교류 시대에 문화적으로 의미가 있다. 연구자는 2021년 허난(河南) TV에서 방영된 둔황 비천 재해석 무용 프로그램 과 을 시청한 뒤, 둔황 비천이 현대의 문화교류의 성격을 가진 캐릭터로 재해석한 그림책 창작에 대한 동기를 갖게 되었다. 또한 연구자는 한국에서 유학생활을 하면서 한국의 민속문화에도 많은 관심을 갖게 되었는데, 한국의 명절 축제에서 민속놀이 공연과 한국의 현대 시장음식문화에 특히 깊은 인상을 받게 되었다. 이러한 중국 '둔황 비천'과 한국 '민속놀이와 음식' 두 가지 고유 문화에 대한 관심과 이해를 상호간 돕기 위해 양국 간에 서로 소개하고, 문화적으로 교류 및 발전을 희망하면서 30장의 일러스트레이션으로 재해석한 그림책을 창작하게 되었다. 본 연구는 작품 논문으로 중국 둔황 비천, 한국 전통민속문화, 전통문화그림책 3가지에 대한 이론적 내용을 분석한 내용과 이러한 이론적 연구를 토대로 연구자의 개성을 살려 일러스트레이션으로 재해석한 그림책을 창작한 작업과정에 대한 논술이다. 본 연구를 통해, 첫째, 중국 둔황 비천의 역사 등 이론적 연구와 비천의 외적 이미지에 대한 연구를 진행하였는데, 비천과 불교미술에 대한 이론적 연구와 함께 비천의 등신비율, 동세, 표정, 헤어스타일, 의상, 장식소품, 동작선, 기법, 색, 스타일 등 외적 이미지에 대한 연구 결과를 도출하였다. 둘째, 한국 전통민속 중에서 농악, 사자춤, 부채춤, 탈춤에 대한 연구와 더불어 한국의 현대 시장음식을 연구하였다. 셋째, 전통문화 그림책에 대해 한·중 양국의 우수한 그림책 작가 8명을 선정해 전통문화 그림책을 분석하였는데 스토리, 기법, 장면, 캐릭터, 색의 측면으로 나누어 분석하여 특징 등을 연구하였다. 마지막으로 이를 기반으로 연구자의 독창적이고 개성적인 전통 그림책의 제작 연구를 진행하였는데 스토리, 기법, 장면, 캐릭터, 색의 측면으로 나누어 구체적인 창작과정을 논술하였다. 연구자의 창작에서 스토리는 중국의 비천과 한국 민속, 음식 등을 상호교류하는 내용으로 둔황 비천이 한국과 중국을 자유롭게 여행하는 만화적인 캐릭터로 재해석한 내용으로 스토리텔링하였다. 표현 기법은 오방색을 기본으로 하되 현대의 디지털 방식으로 투명한 수채화 기법을 적용하여 기존의 둔황 벽화의 채색의 한계를 넘어서는 새로운 표현을 하고자 하였다. 본 연구로 완성된 그림책으로 한국 독자들이 둔황 벽화의 색과 비천의 아름다움을 감상할 수 있고, 중국 독자들은 한국 민속문화인 농악과 탈춤, 부채춤도 알 수 있을 것으로 예상한다. 그리고 한국의 야시장 모습을 그림책에 담음으로써 중국 독자들은 한국문화에 대해서도 알 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구는 중국 둔황 비천과 한국의 민속문화 및 현대시장음식, 그리고 전통문화 그림책에 대한 이론적 연구와 이에 대한 재해석의 그림책 창작에 대한 사례 연구에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다. 그리고 연구자의 창작 그림책을 통해 한국과 중국의 독자들은 중국의 비천에 대한 이해와 한국문화에 대해서도 이해할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 한편 연구자가 한국 유학 생활과 코로나로 인해 둔황의 현장을 직접 방문을 하지 못한 채 연구가 진행되었다는 애로사항이 있었다. 그리고 향후 시간적 기회가 주어진다면 연구자의 창작 그림책을 애니메이션으로 제작하고자 한다.
