자수기법을 이용한 섬유 주얼리 디자인 연구

Abstract

현재 중국의 주얼리 산업은 양적으로 급성장을 이루고 있지만, 주얼리 제품은 디자인 측면에서 정체된 현상을 보인다. 이는 중국 주얼리 산업의 가치 창출과 질적 도약을 방해하는 ‘병목현상’이 문제가 되었다. 중국 주얼리 산업의 발전을 위해서는 외래문화를 흡수하면서 끊임없이 민족문화를 적용하고 동양적인 매력을 지닌 전통의 미를 현대적 가치로 재해석해서 주얼리를 만드는 것이 필요하다. 즉, 주얼리에 중국 전통문양의 전형적 요소를 차용하는 것이 이러한 문제를 해결하는 가장 효과적이고 실질적인 해결방안이라고 할 수 있다. 게다가 섬유 주얼리 디자인은 전통 주얼리의 소재 가치 관념에서 탈피해서 가볍고 친환경적인 소재가 사람들의 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 섬유 소재의 활용은 주얼리 디자인의 새로운 돌파구이자 트렌드가 되었고, 현대 주얼리 디자인 분야에서는 민족적 지역 문화에 관한 관심이 높아지는 추세이다. 이런 맥락에서 섬유 소재에서 자수기법은 중국 전통문화를 가장 잘 보여준다. 본 연구는 이러한 상황을 고려하여, 중국의 전통문양과 자수기법을 선택하여 섬유 주얼리 디자인 연구를 진행하였다. 또한, 전통문양과 섬유 주얼리에서의 자수기법의 표현과 응용연구를 통해 글로벌의 연관 속에서 주얼리에 대한 현지화 디자인을 탐구하고, 효과적인 중국 주얼리 디자인의 나아갈 방향을 모색하였다. 이를 통해 중국의 전통적 특색과 현대인의 신앙, 심미, 문화적 관습과 가치 지향에 맞는 주얼리 디자인을 위한 참고 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 다음과 같은 연구방법을 진행하였다. 첫째, 본 연구는 주얼리, 섬유 소재, 중국 전통문양 및 자수에 대해 개념을 제시하고, 특히 전통문양의 발전과정과 분류에 대한 분석을 진행하였으며 각 시기의 전통문양의 상징성과 예술적 특징을 고찰하였다. 둘째, 구체적인 사례를 분석하고 전통 문양의 다양한 디자인 분야에서의 표현과 응용을 서술하고 디자인 프로세스를 도출하였다. 또한 섬유 주얼리 디자인에서 전통 문양과 자수를 접목해 디자인 프로세스에 따라 작품을 완성하였다. 작품 기법은 주로 소주지역 자수기법을 사용하였다. 색채는 현대 주얼리의 심미적 관념을 더욱 나타내고, 문양은 주로 식물 문양, 동물 문양, 길상 문양, 종교 문양 등 네가지 유형에서 각각 대표적인 문양을 선정하여 작품을 창작하였다. 따라서 작품에 전통문화정서를 부여하고 기복, 길상 등의 의미를 갖도록 하였다. 셋째, 전통문양 자수 주얼리 디자인의 타당성 확보를 위하여 문양 디자인의 디자인 요소의 적합성, 문양 방법의 유효성 및 디자인 가치에 대한 설문조사를 실행하였다. 중국의 디자인 및 예술과 관련된 응답자 100명을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행했다. 본 연구를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 본 논문은 소주지역의 자수기법으로 작품 제작을 통하여 매듭수, 반금, 제침, 투침, 난침이 자수 주얼리에 더 적합한 것을 발견했다. 전통자수 위주의 작품들은 색상에 있어서 현대 주얼리처럼 중국 전통 색상만을 적용하지 않고 현대인의 취향에 맞게 색상을 전환하고 채도와 명도에 변화를 시도하였다. 또한, 자수 주얼리에서 천연 실크실, 면 원단 사용이 효율적임을 알 수 있었다. 자수는 중국의 무형 문화유산의 산물로서 주얼리 디자인을 통해 젊은 세대의 관심을 사로잡는다면 경제적 가치는 물론, 문화적, 사회적 가치를 기대할 수 있다. 둘째, 자수 주얼리의 소재는 모두 환경 친화적, 건강 중심의 섬유소재이다. 소재의 대부분은 자연에서 채취한 면, 린넨, 울, 실크 등의 섬유이다. 이러한 소재의 적용은 일상에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 금속 및 보석 등의 값비싼 소재보다 소박하고 부드럽고 따뜻한 촉감과 정서적 감각이 더해져 자연의 여유가 주는 편안함에 대한 욕구 충족과 지속가능한 환경 디자인 이념에 부합한다. 셋째, 설문조사를 통한 종합평가 결과 길상 문양은 네가지 문양 중 가장 성공적인 것으로 나타났다. 중국인들의 습관과도 관련이 있다. 주얼리 디자이너는 전통문양 디자인할 때 길상 문양을 우선적으로 참고할 수 있다. 각 구성요소를 현대적 감성과 조화롭게 배치함으로써 새로운 디자인을 창조할 수 있다. 본 연구는 재료학, 민속학, 생태학 등의 전문분야 지식을 다루었으며 주얼리 디자인에 전통문양을 바탕으로 문화적 가치와 현대적 기술을 융합하여 지속 가능한 차별적 가치를 창출하고자 하고자 하였다. 이상에서 고찰한 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 다양한 자수기법과 문양을 다각적으로 연구하고 보편적 디자인에서 벗어나 시대를 반영하는 현대적 디자인의 자수 주얼리 개발을 위한 실질적이고 학술적 기초자료가 되기를 기대한다. | Nowadays, China's jewelry industry has achieved rapid growth in quantity, while there are serious problems in the design of jewelry products, which becomes a "bottleneck" hindering the value creation and quality leap of China's jewelry industry. The national culture and foreign culture should be used constantly to make jewelry reinterpreting the traditional beauty with oriental charm, so as to improve the China's jewelry industry, which demonstrates that the most effective and practical way to solve these problems is to use the typical elements of traditional Chinese patterns in jewelry. The idea of fabric materials on the could be the new breakthrough and trend in jewelry design, in addition, the passion of modern jewelry design for the culture of ethnic areas is increasing. Under such background, one of the most representative fiber materials of Chinese traditional culture is embroidery. Under the condition of globalization, this paper tries to analyze the localization of the jewelry design through the performance and application of the traditional pattern and embroidery in the fabric jewelry, so as to explore a effective way of jewelry design in China, as well as provide the reference for designing the jewelry with Chinese traditional characteristics which in line with modern people's belief, aesthetic, cultural habits and value orientation. Hence, the following research methods are carried out. First of all, this paper indicates the related concepts of jewelry, fiber materials, Chinese traditional patterns and embroidery, especially studying the development process and classification of traditional patterns, in addition, summarizing the emblematic and artistic characteristics of traditional patterns in each period. Secondly, this paper analyzes the concrete cases to describe the performance and application of traditional patterns in many design fields, and then, deriving the process of design. Moreover, the combination of traditional patterns and embroidery is applied in the design of fabric jewelry, making the jewelry based on the design process. In terms of techniques, the works mainly use Suzhou embroidery techniques. In terms of color, it tries to be closer to the aesthetic concept of modern jewelry. In terms of patterns, four representative patterns are chosen, which are plant patterns, animal patterns, auspicious patterns and religious patterns, making the works more endowed with the emotion of traditional culture with more meanings such as blessing and auspiciousness. Thirdly, questionnaire survey about the suitability of pattern design elements, the effectiveness of pattern method and the design value are carried out to ensure the appropriateness of the jewelry design with traditional pattern embroidery, and 100 respondents who studied Chinese art and design are participated. The sums of this paper that have been stated are as follow. Firstly, this paper uses Suzhou embroidery techniques to produce works, finding that Jie Shu, Ban Jin, Chu Zhen, Tou Zhen and Luan Zhen are more suitable for embroidery jewelry. Although traditional embroidery is the main part, the color structure should be changed according to the preferences of modern people to reduce the monochrome or purity, rather than selecting the traditional Chinese color according to the modern jewelry in terms of color, . The natural silk thread and cotton fabric are more suitable for embroidery jewelry. Moreover, the embroidery is the product of China's intangible cultural heritage. If the young generation can be attracted by the design of jewelry, it will not only have economic value, but also further improve the cultural and social value. Secondly, the materials of embroidery jewelry are environment-friendly and healthy fiber materials. Most of the materials are cotton, flax, wool, silk and other fibers extracted from nature, which are more simple, softer, warmer and more emotional than the expensive materials such as metals and gemstones in daily life. It meet the requirements of natural leisure and green comfort as well as the sustainable concept of environmental design. Thirdly, the comprehensive evaluation results from the questionnaire survey prove that the auspicious patterns are the most successful among the four patterns, which are related to the habits of Chinese people. Jewelry designers can refer to the auspicious patterns first when designing traditional patterns, so as to create new design through coordinating elements with modern sensibility. Pattern is an important element to inspire the jewelry design. It is hopeful to create sustainable differential value with the cultural value and modern technology, based on the traditional pattern in the design of jewelry. Under such circumstances, it is expected that the embroidery technique and the pattern can be studied through multiple directions without the ordinary design, so as to become the practical and academic basic information of embroidery jewelry development which can better reflect the modern design, based on the results of this paper.
