한국 청소년에서 코로나19로 인한 일상생활의 변화가 알레르기 질환에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The effect of daily life changes due to COVID-19 on allergic disease among Korean adolescents Park, Miso Advisor : Prof. Han, Mi Ah Department of Public Health, Graduate School of Health Science, Chosun University Objective: The daily life of adolescents have changed significantly due to the epidemic and prolongation of COVID-19. This study investigated the effect of daily life changes due to COVID-19 on allergic disease among Korean adolescents Methods: This study used data from the 2021 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey. A total of 54,848 participants were analyzed. Allergic diseases included asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis. Changes due to COVID-19 included family economic difficulties, physical activity, breakfast frequency, alcohol consumption, smoking, and depression. Chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression analyses were conducted to exam the impact of changes in daily life due to COVID-19 on allergic diseases. Results: Among adolescents, 30.4% of people had worsened economic status due to COVID-19, 7.4% had decreased physical activity, 2.8% had increased drinking, 1.0% had increased smoking, and 36.0% had increased depression. Those diagnosed with asthma, atopic dermatitis, or allergic rhinitis within the last 12 months are 1.0%, 16.5%, 6.2%, respectively. People who were greatly affected by COVID-19 in their daily lives were highly diagnosed with allergic diseases within the last 12 months. And in cases where smoking or drinking increased due to COVID-19, the rate of allergic disease diagnosis within the past 12 months was high. Conclusion: Adolescents experienced changes in their daily lives due to COVID-19, and it was related to allergic diseases. Our study might be able to use for suggesting a plan for appropriate management of allergic diseases in adolescents' daily lives during the infectious disease epidemic.
