- Abstract
- The effects of Pilates Participants' Grit on Life Satisfaction and Exercise Continuity Kim Min Jeong Advisor : Lee suk young Major in Dance Education Graduate School of Education, Chosun University The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of grit of Pilates participants on life satisfaction and exercise continuity. The subjects of this study selected people who were participating in Pilates in 2023 and conducted a direct survey. A total of 230 questionnaires were distributed, and 226 copies of the final collected data were used as samples for this study, excluding 4 copies with low reliability, such as non-response and unfaithful answers. The survey tool is a questionnaire to measure the effect of grit on life satisfaction and exercise continuity. A demographic questionnaire produced by Lee Jung-jae (2014) was used. The survey tool questionnaire for life satisfaction was used by revising and supplementing the questionnaire developed by Diener et al. (1983) in the study used by Jang Se-jin (2015). Grit revised and supplemented the measurement tool developed by Duckworth et al (2007). For exercise continuity, the Korean exercise continuity test paper developed by Choi Sung-hoon (2005) was used. For statistical analysis of data, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS for Win Version 18.0 program. As a result of the analysis by this research method, the following conclusions were obtained. First, it was found that age, marital status, and exercise experience affect life satisfaction and exercise continuity. It can be seen that the degree to which one continues to exercise and is satisfied with life varies depending on the environment and age in which one is located. Second, it was found that the grit of Pilates participants affects life satisfaction. This suggests that continuing to participate and strive for exercise with a steady mind arouses satisfaction in the mind and body and enhances social satisfaction. Third, the grit of Pilates participants was found to have an effect on the continuation of exercise. It can be seen that if you participate in exercise with a steady mind, your interest in exercise increases, you maintain close relationships with the people you participate in, and exercise facilities and places influence your participation in exercise. Fourth, it was found that the life satisfaction of Pilates participants affects the continuation of exercise. It was found that if you are satisfied with your life while exercising, you are influenced by exercise persistence factors and want to continue exercising steadily, and it has a positive effect on your life.
