Abstract

海行記는 日記類의 글로, 1734년 金弘祖(1698~1748)라는 인물이 伴人의 자격으로 問慰行의 책임자인 숙부 金顯門(1675~1738)을 수행하며 對馬島를 往復했을 때의 일을 기록한 작품이다. 현재 이 책은 韓日 교류사 중의 通信使에 관한 각종 기록과 연구가 대다수인 실정 아래에서, 거의 유일하게 問慰行의 전 과정을 기록한 작품으로 알려져 있다. 문위행은 대마도주 宗方熙가 물러나고, 그의 조카인 宗義如가 그의 자리를 이어받은 것에 따른 외교 절차이다. 김홍조의 일기는 몇 가지 주요 내용이 눈에 보인다. 이전의 對馬島主와 현재 對馬島主의 사이의 승계를 축하하는 일을 수행하는 데 있어 각종의 儀禮를 빠짐이 없이 잘 기술하였다. 그리고 승계에 따른 圖書 3개를 還收하는 일에 관해서도 일기에 잘 기록하고 있다. 또한 당시 일본의 學者이자 外交家인 雨森芳洲(1668~1755)와 交遊한 내용이 풍부하게 보이며, 18세기의 朝鮮人으로서 일본의 전통 공연인 能를 처음 관람하고 자세한 기록을 남긴 것은 특기할 만하다. 또한 그가 가진 醫療的 知識으로 많은 對馬島 사람들을 治療한 부분도 흥미를 끈다. 그가 日本의 對馬島에서 經驗한 일들을 기록할 때에 事實에 立脚하여 독자에게 많은 정보를 제공한 점이 있지만, 한편으로 그의 지위와 개인적 선입견으로 인해 정보의 전달에 일부 한계를 노출하고 있다.|In the writing of the diary, Haehaenggi is a work that records when a person named Kim Hong-jo(金弘祖, 1698~1748) traveled back and forth to Tsushima Island in 1734, accompanied by his uncle Kim Hyun-mun(金顯門, 1675~1738), who was in charge of Munwihaeng(問慰行) in his capacity as a companion. Currently, this book is known as the only work that records the entire process of Moonwihaeng under the circumstances of the majority of various records and studies on Tongshinsa(通信使) in the history of exchange between Korea and Japan. MoonWihaeng is a diplomatic procedure following the resignation of Sō Michihiro(宗方熙, 1696~1760), the governor of Daemado Island, and his nephew, Sō Yoshiyuki(宗義如, 1716~1752), took over his position. Kim Hong-jo's diary has several main contents that stand out. The various rituals were well described in carrying out the work of celebrating the succession between the former island administrator and the current island administrator. In addition, it is well recorded in the diary about recovering three doseo seal(圖書) following succession. There seems to be also a lot of contents that get along well with Hoshu Amemori (雨森芳洲, 1668~1755), a Japanese scholar and diplomat at the time, and as a Korean in the 18th century, it is noteworthy that he first watched the traditional Japanese performance(No, 能), and left a detailed record. It is also interesting to see that he has treated many Tsushima Island people with his medical knowledge. While he provided a lot of information to the reader based on facts when recording his experiences on Tsushima Island in Japan, his status and personal preconceptions expose some limitations in the delivery of information.
