Abstract
The purpose of this research was to identify the educational effect of the development and application of a health domain program using Edutech on middle school physical education class. For this purpose, we designed the first program through the selection of domains and chapters and the analysis of instructional content, which was followed by the application in classes with 78 second grade students at middle school based on the EBS online class platform in the first semester. In sequence, we supplemented the design and implementation of the program after the analysis of instructional content and the learners so that the second experiment could be carried out in the second semester.
In an effort to analyze the effectiveness of the program quantitatively, a frequency analysis, an exploratory factor analysis, a confirmatory factor analysis, a reliability analysis, a correlation analysis, and a t-test were utilized with SPSS Ver 25.0, a statistical package program, and in-depth interviews were secondarily adopted to collect qualitative data for the purpose of recognizing the qualitative outcome, thereby drawing the counclusion as follows. First, we developed the program model of health domain into 7th courses based on ADDIE model usinf Edutech through reference research and expert reviews from four professionals: a professor who majored in sports pedagogy, a doctoral student in sports pedagogy, an elementary school teacher, and two secondary school P.E. teachers.
Second, we found that the factors of the positive effect of using EBS online class were‘P.E. theory class’, ‘learning in detail’, ‘comfortable home learning’, ‘self-directed learning’, ‘various information’and, so forth whereas the factors of negative effect was related to ‘connection failure on the website’, ‘no availible app’, ‘consistent vidoe buffering(difficulties in motor learning, non-submission of assignment, lose of motor skills, decline in concentration, deficiency of connection to offline classes)’, ‘errors in progress rate’, ‘repetitive server errors’, ‘inconvenience in question and answer’,and ‘taking classes illegally(Macro)’. In addition, the factors of the positive effect of using Google classroom were found to be‘convenient accessibility to online class platform’, ‘availible application’, ‘notification service indicating time for class’, ‘problem solving sections of the video’, ‘a sense of achievement in task completion’, ‘efficient attendence check’, ‘accurate progress rate’, ‘comfortable home learning’, ‘self-directed learning’, ‘various information’, ‘physical activity’, ‘realtime conversation with teachers’, and so forth while the factors of negative effect was concerned with ‘inconvenience in completing quizzes of video lessons’, and‘unstable interworking of additional function’.
Third, in the effect comparative study on perceived smart exercise learning through the P.E. class program with Edutech, the subfactors of perceived smart excercise learning, which are cognitive online learning, affective online learning, behavioral online learning, indicated that Google classroom was more effective than EBS online class.
Forth, in the comparative study on smart physical education motivation through the P.E. class program with Edutech, the subfactors of smart physical education motivation, which are learning attitude and direction, performing action of shooting tasks, competency, and expectation effectiveness factors, proved that Google classroom was more effective than EBS online class.
Fifth, in the comparative study on smart physical education class satisfaction in P.E. class program with Edutech, the subfactors of smart physical education class satisfaction, which are interest in class, physical activity, connection to class, and class performance, also showed that Google classroom was more effective than EBS online class.
This paper aimed to explore the effectiveness of the health domain program based on Edutech by adopting EBS online class and Google classroom and to develop P.E. class not of online learning, but online exercise learning. Even though teaching and learning with Edutech requires great commitment to study on various educational platforms and contents with creativity, this work can result in much more desirable effect.
In conclusion, P.E. class based on Edutech is an accustomed and effective way for students in the smart era. Online P.E. class can now support physical activity, and its diversity is limitless with the use of smart devices. On this basis, this paper suggested that P.E. class with Edutech for teaching and learning needs to be additionally organized in curriculums, thereby practically adopted and invigorated further
