Abstract
Games in education have effects such as improving students' communication skills, students' individualized learning, creating a positive environment, and motivating students. Among them, board games are consistently used not only overseas but also domestically, both educationally and therapeutically, and their positive effects are great. The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception and status of special teachers about the use of such board games.
To this end, the actual situation of using board games of special teachers, the level of use, satisfaction with board games, the perceptions of special teachers regarding the education of students with disabilities using board games, and requirements related to board games of special teachers were investigated. This study conducted an online survey targeting special teachers in special schools and special teachers in general schools, and finally, a total of 116 data were used for analysis. The conclusions of this study are as follows. More than half of the teachers use board games, and they recognize that board games have a positive effect on students. However, special teachers do not know board games in depth.
Teachers want to receive a lot of information related to board game training and board game related programs. Based on the results of these studies, we hope that it will be helpful in education for students with disabilities by providing education that can use board games as a teaching medium to special teachers and developing educational games that can provide appropriate education for students with disabilities.
