Abstract
Arch bridges have been widely adopted because they give the structure a unique curvilinear beauty and can effectively distribute the load-bearing capacity to construct economical bridges. Recently, attempts have been made to transform the old type of arch bridges. Most of all, most representatives are unbraced arched bridges that apply a tubular circular cross-section to the arch rib to reduce the shape factor. The many advantages of unbraced tubular arch bridges are expected to increase in structure and require further study. In this study, the effects of arch inclination on the bearing capacity and buckling strength of unbraced tubular arch bridges were investigated through finite element analysis.
