Abstract
Short-circuit strength of a transformer is divided into thermal strength and mechanical strength. The thermal strength is related to the heat generation and temperature rise inside the conductor, which is the thermal performance of the short circuit. The mechanical strength is the strength to withstand the mechanical adaptability. The influence of direct current is also greatly affected by the short circuit. The autotransformer shall have a short-circuit strength enough to withstand the short-circuit current generated in the grid and shall pass a short-circuit strength test to demonstrate its reliability and performance. Therefore, the symmetrical short-circuit current, asymmetrical short-circuit current, short-circuit impedance, test current, test time and number of tests where required to be examined under the short-circuit strength test conditions. The test method for domestic electric railway system was proposed in this thesis.
