Abstract

This study explores the factors of rapport that improve the efficiency of coaching between handball coaches and players. Also, It searches how the rapport affects players’ performance on games, and indicates the causal relationship between the variables. The factors will be able to create the rapport which can be offered as a basic materials of handball courts. In this study, the factors of rapport that improve the efficiency of coaching were derived from the guidance methods of players’ subjective opinions. For this purpose, preliminary questions were extracted through two processes, and then the final 33 questions of Q statement were extracted by confirming the appropriateness and validity. Based on the final questions, 38 handball players from university and business teams in G city were selected as P-Sample. Since none of the questions were answered undependably, all 38 subjects were forced to be classified into Q-Sorting Chart according to the Q-Sorting classification method, and the scores given in the sorting distribution chart were coded in numerical order of Q samples. Principal Factor Analysis was performed through QUANL program. The result of this process is as follows: First, The result was analyzed on the factors that showed positive and negative consent for Type I, Type II and Type III. Second, the result of positive and negative differences was confirmed through analyzing the differences between two types. Third, the result of positive and negative consents was indicated from the matched items between types. The result of these analyses is as follows: Considering players’ subjective recognition, coaches should improve the efficiency of coaching through exploring causes of rapport. The analysis of the players’ recognition is not only the way of increasing coaching abilities but also the crucial impact on their performances in the game. The use of Q method in this study is a point of researching the main causes of creating rapport that improve coaching skills. Thus, it is important to consider various types and explore the factors of rapport in order to increase coaching performances between players and coaches.
