한국어 문화교육에서의 미디어의 유용성과 활용 방안 연구

Abstract

이 논문의 목적은 한국어 문화교육에서 미디어의 유용성을 살피고 유튜브를 활용한 한국어 문화교육 방안을 구체적인 모형과 지도안으로 제시함으로써 교육 현장에서 활용할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 1970년대 이후부터 기능주의의 영향으로 언어는 언어 및 비언어적인 체계 모두를 포괄하는 개념으로 인식되어졌고 의사소통 수단으로의 특성을 중요시하면서 언어교육의 목표 또한 의사소통능력 향상에 초점을 두게 되었다. 따라서 언어를 교육함에 있어서 문법적으로 완벽한 언어를 구사하는 것 보다는 얼마만큼의 문화적 배경을 가지고 자연스러운 의사소통이 가능한가가 중요시되었다. 이에 따라 문화교육은 언어교육에 있어서 중요한 위치에 놓이게 되었다. 그러나 많은 한국어 교수 학습에서 크게 의존하고 있는 교재에는 문화반영요소가 다소 미흡하고 단편적으로 제시되어 있어서 실제성이나 관심 면에서 학습자의 요구를 충족시켜줄 자료가 부족한 것이 사실이다. 이러한 현실 속에서 한국문화에 대한 학습자들의 관심과 흥미를 충족시키고 효과적인 문화학습으로 견인시켜줄 자료로서 미디어의 유용성을 살펴보고 최근 뉴 미디어로 부각되고 있는 유튜브를 활용한 수업에 대하여 논의하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 1장에서는 연구의 목적과 필요성을 기본으로 연구대상 및 방법을 설정하고 선행연구를 분석하여 본 연구의 방향성을 제시하였다. 2장에서는 의사소통 능력 향상을 위한 한국어 문화교육의 중요성과 필요성에 대해 논하였다. 유의미한 언어 문화교육을 위해서는 기본적으로 한국인이 가지고 있는 특별한 한국문화 가치 체계를 바탕으로 한 언어 문화교육이 이루어져야하므로 그 가치 체계를 반영한 문화교육의 연관성과 중요성을 정리하였다. 또한 사회문화적인 현상을 잘 반영하는 미디어의 개념과 미디어를 활용한 교육의 특성, 한국어 문화 자료로써 미디어의 유용성을 살펴보았다. 3장에서는 유튜브 문화 학습 모형의 토대가 될 수 있는 영상 매체 활용 교수학습 모형들과 한국어 문화 교육 교수학습 모형들을 살펴보았다. 더불어 뉴미디어인 유튜브의 특성과 장점을 정리하고 이를 바탕으로 유튜브를 활용한 문화교육 모형을 제안하였다. 4장에서는 유튜브를 학습 자료로 활용할 때의 선정 기준을 제시하였다. 또한 학습자료 선정 항목에 부합되는 자료로써 유튜브 ‘영국남자’를 분석하고 문화 학습에 활용 시 효용성과 주의점에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 이러한 논의를 토대로 학습 목표 설정, 시청 자료 소개, 동영상 자료 활용 수업 시 유의점과 함께 초급, 중급, 고급 수업안을 시청 전 단계, 시청 단계, 시청 후 3단계로 나누어 구체적으로 제시하였다. 5장에서는 본 연구의 결과를 정리하여 한계점과 의의를 밝히고 문화수업에서 유튜브 콘텐츠의 활용을 위한 후속연구를 제언하였다. 현재 한국어 교육에서 문화교육에 대한 관심이 높아지고 그 중요성이 대두되고 있는 만큼 학습자가 한국문화를 적극적으로 즐겁게 수용할 수 있도록 수업현장에서 활용 가능한 구체적이고 실제적인 문화교육 방안이 개발되어야 할 것이다. | The purpose of this study is to examine the usefulness of the media in Korean culture education and to present concrete models and guidance on Korean culture education using YouTube so that it can be used in the field of education. Since the 1970s, due to the influence of functionalism, language has been recognized as a concept encompassing both language and non-verbal systems, and the goal of language education has also focused on improving communication skills while placing importance on characteristics as a means of communication. Therefore, it was important to know how much cultural background it was possible to communicate naturally, rather than to speak a grammatically perfect language. As a result, cultural education is placed in an important position in language education. However, it is true that the textbooks, which rely heavily on Korean language teaching, have somewhat insufficient and fragmentary elements of cultural reflection, and lack data to meet the needs of learners in terms of practicality and interest. In this reality, we would like to examine the usefulness of the media as a material that will satisfy learners' interest in Korean culture and drive them to effective cultural learning, and discuss classes using YouTube, which has recently emerged as a new media. For this purpose, Chapter 1 presented the direction of this research by establishing the subjects and methods based on the purpose and necessity of the research and analyzing the prior research. Chapter 2 discussed the importance and necessity of Korean culture education to improve communication skills. For meaningful language and cultural education, language and cultural education based on the special Korean cultural value system possessed by Koreans should be provided, thus the association and importance of cultural education reflecting the value system were summarized. We also looked at the concept of media that reflects social and cultural phenomena, the characteristics of education using media, and the usefulness of media as Korean cultural materials. In Chapter 3, we looked at teaching and teaching models using video media, which can be the basis of the YouTube culture and learning model, and teaching models for Korean culture and education. In addition, the characteristics and advantages of YouTube, a new media, were summarized and based on this, a model of cultural education using YouTube was proposed. Chapter 4 presents the criteria for using YouTube as a learning material. We also analyzed YouTube's 'Korean English Man' as a material that matches the selection of learning materials and looked at its utility and caution points when using it for cultural learning. Based on these discussions, we presented the beginner, intermediate, and advanced class plans in three stages: pre-view, viewing, and post-view, along with important points in setting learning goals, introducing viewing materials, and utilizing video materials. Chapter 5 summarizes the results of this study, reveals the limitations and significance, and suggests follow-up research for the use of YouTube content in cultural classes. As interest in cultural education is increasing and its importance is emerging in Korean language education, concrete and practical cultural education measures that can be used in class sites should be developed so that learners can actively enjoy Korean culture.
