콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동이 유아의 인성과 리더십에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동이 만 5세 유아의 인성과 리더십에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 통해 유아의 인성 및 리더십을 향상시킬 수 있는 협동미술활동의 방향과 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다. 이와 관련하여 설정된 연구문제는 다음과 같다.

1. 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동이 유아의 인성에 어떤 영향을 미치는가?

2. 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동이 유아의 리더십에 어떤 영향을 미치는가?

본 연구에서는 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동이 만 5세반 유아의 인성과 리더십에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위해 실험연구를 실시하였다. 연구대상은 G광역시에 위치한 K어린이집에 재원 중인 만 5세 유아 36명이다. 실험집단은 A반 유아 18명, 비교집단은 B반 유아 18명을 대상으로 실험연구를 실시하였다. 실험처치는 2016년 10월 4일부터 11월 24일까지 8주에 걸쳐 총 16회의 활동을 실시하였다. 실험집단은 누리교육과정의 생활주제를 선정하여 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동을 실시하였고, 비교집단은 해당 어린이집에서 그동안 진행해온 수업방식과 동일한 누리교육과정의 생활주제에 맞추어 미술활동을 실시하였다. 유아의 인성을 측정하기 위해 Conners(1970)의 인성검사를 기초로 권오정(2004)이 제작한 학부모용 인성평정척도를 수정하여 만든, 배윤진(2007)의 교사용 ‘유아 인성 검사 도구’를 사용하였고, 유아의 리더십을 검사하기 위해 이채호⋅최인수(2008)가 개발한 ‘교사용 유아 리더십 검사 도구’를 사용하였다. 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동이 유아의 인성과 리더십에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 본 연구에서 실험집단과 비교집단의 자료를 수집하여 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 사용 하였으며,공변량 분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 공변량 분석을 실시한 이유는 실험 전에 존재할 수 있는 집단 간의 오차를 최소화하기 위하여 사전검사를 공변인으로 통제한 후 사후 검사 점수가 집단 간 유의미한 차이를 나타내는지 살펴보기 위한 것이다. 본 연구 결과를 요약해 보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 콜라주에 기초한 협동 미술활동이 유아의 인성전체와 모든 하위영역에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동을 통해 유아들이 같은 주제를 가지고 역할을 분담하여 또래들의 표현을 자유롭게 나누고 탐색하며, 서로간의 생각 차이를 알고 적절히 조절 및 융화하여 또래와의 상호작용이 활발하게 일어나도록 하는 과정과 자신에 대해 소중함을 인식하고 공동체 안에서 타인에 대해 공감 및 협력하는 과정 속에서 바람직한 인성이 형성 될 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동이 유아의 리더십 전체와 하위영역에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 이는 유아들이 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동을 통해 유아 스스로 의지를 가지고 자신의 사고와 감정을 잘 이끌어 공동의 목표를 성취해 나가며, 나아가 또래집단 안에서 긍정적인 상호작용을 통해 적절한 협력관계를 유지하며 공동목표를 이루어가는 과정 속에서 유아의 리더십에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있다.

결론적으로 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동이 유아의 인성과 리더십을 향상시키는데 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 볼 수 있다. 따라서 콜라주에 기초한 협동미술활동은 유아의 인성과 리더십 향상을 위해 유아교육 현장에서 활용될 수 있음을 시사한다.|The Effect of Cooperative Art Activity Based on Collage on Children’s Personality and Leadership

This study aimed to examin the association between collage-based cooperative art activity and the personality and leadership of five-year-old children. An experimental research was conducted to address the following research questions:

1. What are the effects of collage-based cooperative art activity on children’s personality? 2. What are the effects of collage-based cooperative art activity on children’s leadership?

The study subjects were 36 five-year-old children, attending K child care center in G metropolitan city. The experimental and comparison groups included 18 children each in A and B classes, respectively. A total of 16 activity sessions were conducted for eight weeks, from October 4 to November 24, 2016. For the experimental group, a life theme of Nuri curriculum was first selected and then the collage-based cooperative art activity was conducted. For the comparison group, the life theme of Nuri curriculum used to conduct the art activity was the same as that being used in K child care center. To measure children’s personality, the children’s personality test instrument for teachers, developed by Bae Yun-jin (2007), was used. Moreover, the children’s leadership test instrument for teachers, developed by Lee Chae-ho and Choi In-su (2008), was used for testing children’s personality. Data collected from the experimental and the comparison groups were analyzed using ANCOVA with the SPSS 18.0 program to examine whether there was any significant difference between the groups’ pre-and post-test scores. The results of the study are as follows. First, collage-based cooperative art activity had positive effects on children’s entire personality and sub-areas. Thus, children can self-develop while sharing materials and experiencing cooperation through cooperative art activity. In addition, they can develop a positive and desirable personality while they progress socially and grow in community. Second, the collage-based cooperative art activity had positive effects on children’s entire leadership and all the sub-areas. Thus, collage-based cooperative art activity helps children provide a direction to their thoughts and emotions, lead play situations, and understand their own and others’ emotions while experiencing compliments and encouragements. Furthermore, the activity had positive effects on children’s leadership while they were concentrating on play and accomplishing common goals through positive interactions within peer groups.

In conclusion, collage-based cooperative art activity is positive in improving children’s personality and leadership. Therefore, this study, suggests that such activity can be used in the child education field for the improvement of children’s personality and leadership.; it also provides the basic data for the development of relevant programs.
