Abstract

One of the greatest man-made inventions is letters. Since prehistoric times, ancient people have tried to find ways to record their letters and preserve them for long periods of time. As a result, these methods have become formalized systems and we call them writing systems. At first, human started to draw simple pictures which were called pictograms, and then they gradually developed these systems into something more specific and abstract. These writing systems are classified into many types which depend on how people record and preserve their writings. Among the many types of writing systems, English is an alphabet writing system. However, we can see some signs and some logos which are not from an alphabet writing system but other types of writing systems when we walk along the street.
