Abstract

‘Heo Kyun’ lived during Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. In his time, when the feudal society was being collapsed and was quickly transforming into modern society, they suffered severe party strife and poverty. Because 'Heo Kyun' committed a treacherous behavior, his literature scarcely appeared in the late of Chosun Dynasty but in modern era, it was shed new light. At that time, while he was born in a novel family and had prodigious talent, because of the circumstances, he was in constant turmoil. However hard it was, I was wondering why someone who can live a secure life, has remain a traitor in history. If once the work is produced by author, we should evaluate it as an entity in itself so that we can make an objective evaluation. However, because I consider the background and thought of his important, I thought I should focus on the research about its epoch. and I had tried various reformations of him living in anomie. Also, in religious aspect of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism He got a wide range of interests and then he achieved recognition as an diplomat for his greatest ability. As we can see, he is his own man and his open mind is written in his book as it is. So this paper, based on connectivity of social factor, we will see his works having his thought. For totally understanding his literature, it is required to study it based on comprehensive views. If we partially look his work, we may have an error of a broad interpretation. Until now, the studies on ‘Heo Kyun’ has been discussed from various views but it constantly reached he is an innovator who wanted to eliminate contradiction of reality. His works we know, represents people's indignation, who couldn't do what they want to do because of social sanction. Maybe, this indignation is not only limited to certain person, but it represents everyone's thought in the possible way of delivering its idea from fiction and especially a novel. This is the way he chose ‘jeon’ Because the characters he made is not in reality and is necessary but couldn't be acceptable, so they should move to be in future, where people can accept them. So, his time is not irrational. In the future, so to speak, this time is an ideal for them, it is just his drawing, and that world is that all we hope. Heo Kyun's this consistent thought, is expressed in his way, Heo Kyun's five works well reflect that era he lived with his consciousness. Prehistorically, he stood in turning point as thought transformation. In interpreting his works, if possible, I wanted to divest myself of a preconceived idea and to try to consistently understand logical analysis. A literature is a expression of society. Heo Kyun as a writer had tried to express his life's experience and concept. But a writer couldn't take his whole life into a book, so he just had made an effort to write his time. In social background, We found how he made a diagnosis of social inconsistent and what he did for the nation. In his books, with linking his thought, and social affair. we analyzed how it expressed. I think all of the above works are helpful for us to directly understand social consciousness and motives for writing reflected in his book.
