Abstract
After we analyzed the application of 'Song Nam Encyclopedia' in current chinese character textbook with examining its contents and character, in three kinds of its section, this study aims to develop learning materials or support materials in text book condensing chinese character and educational resource.
Current classical Chinese just ends up in an optional course in junior and senior high school. In other words, in order to attract voluntary participation in classical Chinese from students, various teaching methods and materials which can appeal to students are needed to be developed. So, in this paper through 'Song Nam Encyclopedia', we are trying to research various teaching method.
'Song Nam Encyclopedia' which is made by Jo Jaesam for teaching his two sons takes on Encyclopedia character. As a woodblock-printed book, Lim's book, GeuJangGak book and YuIn book are passed down and There are wide variations in those because it was edited during bookbinding. 'Song Nam Encyclopedia' is written, including all creation of the universe, all ages historical landmark and idioms, in total 4,432 clause classified according to 33styles. This is common character of history genre in the time when he lived. If we read a quoted catalogue of books, we will know there are many history genres which got natural historic and encyclopedic character in references such as 'GangHui Rotation', 'UnBuGunOk' and 'Ji BongYuSeol'.
Its feature of history genres is that as the same meaning of modern Encyclopedia, embodying various classified items, it has broadened people's knowledge. In addition, after examining its educational use, we made a conclusion that 'Song Nam Encyclopedia' has informative function. From astronomy and geography to agricultural administration, armament, music, technique, solar term, ceremony, every name and fact, plus gunpowder, tree, insect, tone, house, food, wealth and appliance are contained. Among those, 'Song Nam Encyclopedia' is being watched with boon word by this, and we can easily get the informations of politics, economy, society, geography, custom, language, history of the time. also, through analytical researches, in the School classical Chinese Textbooks, 'Song Nam Encyclopedia' which provides enormous amount of information in many different fields is cited only three kinds of books but this paper regards it as meaningful to frequently find the other material in 'Song Nam Encyclopedia', and as we see this, I think there are much more possible information to be in textbook from 'Song Nam Encyclopedia'.
Based on this, In Ⅳ chapter, according to 2009 revised chinese character curriculum, usable teaching materials in 'Song Nam Encyclopedia' has been condensed into the materials of reading data, culture, chinese character, for 10 pieces each. also, I give you usable teaching materials in 1800words of the basic chinese character, so that based on its understanding, we can read its original meanings and inherit and develop cultural traditions.
This author has studied 'Song Nam Encyclopedia' for preparing chinese character teaching materials but couldn't suggest definite teaching method. I assign this, and hope we can use this in an actual teaching-learning place after reproduction. Through this study, I wish that 'Song Nam Encyclopedia' receive an attention from major in chinese character as ancillary data for teaching, and that they enrich chinese character and its contents.
