한강소설에 나타난 에코페미니즘 양상 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 에코페미니즘에 관하여 이론적으로 고찰하고 한강 소설을 통해 드러난 에코페미니즘 양상에 대해 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 에코페미니즘은 여성 억압과 자연 억압 사이에 직접적 관련성이 있다고 주장하는 학문이다. 한강의 소설집 『채식주의자』와 『내 여자의 열매』를 중심으로 그녀의 작품 세계를 이러한 에코페미니즘적 시각을 통해서 살펴본다. 한강의 작품 세계를 생태학적 관점에서 접근한 몇몇 소논문들이 존재하긴 하지만 본격적인 에코페미니즘적 시각으로 접근한 선행 연구는 아직까지 없다. 한강의 작품을 단순히 생태주의적 시각으로만 접근하기에는 작품이 내포하고 있는 의미적 스펙트럼들이 크고 광범위하다. 한강의 작품에 드러난 여성과 자연의 연결, 남성과 세계의 관계, 그로부터 파생되는 다양한 의미들이 매우 남다르기 때문에 본 연구가 필요하다고 판단된다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 『채식주의자』의 주인공인 영혜의 모습을 통해 육식을 거부하며 타자화되는것이 에코페미니즘에서 어떤 의미가 있는지를 살펴볼 것이다. 더불어 채식을 통해 끊임없이 경계넘기를 시도하는 주인공인 영혜의 모습과 그런 영혜를 더욱 더 고립시키는 세계의 대립을 통해 에코페미니즘의 한계와 지향점에 대해 논의할 것이다. 나아가 자연의 원리를 회복하고자 하는 영혜의 노력과 좌절된 식물에의 갈망이 어떤 새로운 원리를 만들어 내는지를 통해 에코페미니즘이 작품속에서 어떻게 구체적으로 구현되는지를 살펴볼 것이다. 또한 『내 여자의 열매』를 통해 여성의 주체성 획득이 에코페미니즘의 새로운 대안이 될 것임을 확인하고 여성뿐만 아니라 남성 역시 자연에의 원리를 회복시킬 주체임을 확인할 것이다. 이를 통해 여성과 남성, 자연이 화합하여 하나가 되는 에코페미니즘의 궁극적 지향점에 대해 살펴본다.|This study aims to speculate eco-feminism theoretically and the aspects of eco-feminism shown in Han Gang's novels. Eco-feminism suggests that there are direct relations between oppression of women and the nature. It examines her creative world through the perspective of eco-feminism centering on Han Gang's collections of novels titled 『Vegetarians』and 『The fruit of my Woman』. There are a few papers which approached her creative world in ecological perspective, but there have been no previous studies which seriously dealt with it. Her novels are too wide in semantic spectrum to approach only in ecological perspective. As connection of women with nature, relations between men and the world, and various meanings derived from them are greatly different in Han Gang's novels, it was judged that this study is needed. In this perspective, this study speculates what meaning Yeonghye, a heroin, refusing to eat meat and pursuing for othering in the『Vegetarians』has in eco-feminism. In addition, the study discusses the limitation and orientation of eco-feminism through opposition between the heroin who kept attempting to go beyond the boundary by eating vegetables and the world which isolated her. Furthermore, it investigates what principles are made through her efforts to recover the principles of the nature and her frustrated desire. It suggests that women's acquisition of identity will be a new alternative to eco-feminism through『The fruit of my Woman』and men are also subjects to recover the principles of the nature. Based on the results, it suggests that an ultimate goal of eco-feminism that women, men and the nature are united into one.
