- Abstract
- Purpose of this research is to study the aspect of ‘ーている’ for Korean Japanese language learners to recognize various Korean expressions that corresponds to the aspect, ‘ーている’, and at the same time, this study intends to prepare a basic information for teaching and learning Japanese.
In chapter 1, the aspect of both Japanese and Korean languages and concept will be clarified and will compare the two to find out how they differ.
In chapter 2, the usage of ‘ーている,' such as 'continuous movement' and 'continuation of the result condition,' and derivative meaning of ‘ーている,' such as 'simple state,' 'experience, career,' and 'repetition, habit' will be examined.
In chapter 3, how Japanese aspect expressions are actually expressed in Korean language will be identified by comparing actual examples based on chapter 1 and chapter 2. This study intends to investigate how they were expressed around the semantic aspect, not simple morphological comparison. Original books in Japanese and translated version in Korean will be used as examples, and will clarify the difference in terms by comparing Japanese novel with detailed example sentences in Korean version to see how they were reinterpreted. For examples, 『人間失格』 by 太宰 治 and 『Disqualified Human Beings』by Jeon, Mi Ok and Kim, Yoon Hee are selected.
Also, in chapter 4, 110 students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade from Chosun University majoring in Japanese Language Studies will be selected to identify how they are well informed of the usage of ‘ーている’ and Korean expressions that correspond to the term. Also, to study the degree of interference and influence of the mother tongue by ‘ーている’ tense, the survey research will be divided into usage types. This study attempted to apply the mother tongue interference by writing interpretation of ‘ーている’ by placing the cause of error or confusion in the mother tongue interference.
This study analyzed and studied various Korean aspects of ‘-ている’ by studying the usage of ‘-ている,' the aspect of Japanese language, and by comparing novels in Japanese with translated version published in Korea. Also, this study investigated whether learners have accurate understanding of the various usage of ‘-ている,’ how Korean aspects are influenced by the mother language, and what kind of errors occur by conducting a survey.
