- Abstract
- The learning of probability and statistics enables discovery of any regularity from the past quantitative data and makes it possible to predict the future by making informed decisions. In particular, in the industrial and informative era right understandings on how information is processed , and switched into useful knowledge are needed.
In this position, teaching how to process information and data on the knowledge of probability and statistics is viewed as necessary to stand in a democratic society and enjoy a healthy life, which is simply beyond the terms of the acquisition of mathematical knowledge.
The purpose of the study were to investigate the difference between Korea's middle grade textbooks and Math Thematics textbooks in the unit of probability and statistics and to seek ways to solve middle school students' problems or difficulties in learning probability and statistics.
