영화를 활용한 듣기와 말하기 중심 영어수업 방안 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to suggest teaching methods through movies for middle school students to enhance their English listening and speaking abilities. Applying movie in English education has many positive effects. It provides learners a great interests and motivation to learn, and also a chance to expose a real language and communicative situation. In order for learners to provide useful authentic language and context, this paper analyses communicative situation incorporated the most in some major middle school English text books. Since it is considered that some lesson models by earlier studies are not suitable for middle school English classes in Korea, this researcher proposes an own lesson model to utilize practically. It consists of learning procedure and activities appropriate for English education system of Korea. Lesson plans using "Love actually" and "Notting hill" movie clips are designed on the basis of them. Likewise, this study systematizes the process from analysing English textbooks for common communicative situation to designing an own lesson model through movies.
