Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the difference on job satisfaction between public independent kindergarten teachers and annexed kindergarten teachers in terms of principal's support and attitude, peer relationship, parents' participation and support, work environment, compensation and promotion, professional growth and social recognition, and curriculum activities and support system.

Participants of the study were 260 public independent kindergarten teachers and annexed kindergarten teachers in Jeollanam-do province. 240 teachers' questionnaires were collected and analyzed for the study.

Results of the study were as follows. First, job satisfaction of annexed kindergarten teachers was higher than independent kindergarten teachers in terms of principal's support and attitude, parents' participation and support, work environment, professional growth and social recognition, and curriculum activities & support system. Second, there was no difference on job satisfaction between public independent kindergarten teachers and annexed kindergarten teachers in terms of peer relationship, compensation & promotion,

In conclusion, it is suggestive that the number of annexed kindergarten might be increased because job satisfaction of annexed kindergarten teachers was higher than independent kindergarten teachers.
