Abstract
In order to lead students to higher appreciation of music in class, teachers should help them participate in music class. For that, there is nothing important than a good textbook as a teaching material. For serving this purpose good and diverse pieces of music are needed and music for appreciation included in the textbooks, important resources for music education in school, works as a primary criterion in actual music class.
Did so as the seventh this paper watched to eight kinds of music textbook current by educational processes about their life and action representative works after a process to appreciate impression music included at current eight kinds of music textbooks arranged, and explained, and introducing composers main of the times, and presented the main subject for musical piece explanation, and to explain.
Such appreciation course is treated in the texts published by Kyohaksa, Daehan(Ltd.), Pakyoungsa, Sekwang Publishing Company, and Chunjae(Ltd.) and, in case of Doosan(Ltd.), Book Publishing Taesung, and Hyundai Music Publishing Company treat musical history and appreciation tunes with separate suggestion of them. As the appreciation courses differ in eight texts, the classification of appreciation tunes by time also somewhat differ by text. The classification was made into six in case of Kyohaksa and Sekwang Publishing Company, into nine in case of Daehan(Ltd.) and Chunjae(Ltd.), into ten in case of Doosan(Ltd.), into eight in case of Hyundai Music Publishing Company, and into seven in case of Pakyoungsa.
The times of tunes suggested in eight kinds of texts are those of renaissance, baroque, classic, pre-romanticism, post-romanticism, and modern time and the tunes of romanticism were 52 and took the largest share.
There were totally 42 people who were western music composers at the classified by composer grouping. Among them, Beethoven was written down at the textbook of eight kinds and Bach took a great deal of weight by being written down on the textbook of seven kinds.
When reviewed by genre, the appreciation tunes listed in eight kinds of texts were largely classified into vocal pieces and instrumental pieces. Vocal pieces were classified into mass pieces, oratorios, art songs, operas, and cantata etc. Instrumental pieces were classified into orchestras, symphonies, suites, chamber music, concertos, sonatas, operas, overtures, solos, and dance music. Ratio of entire vocal pieces had most a lot of opera with 21 pieces, and eight kinds of mass pieces was presented to textbook all. There are most a lot of suites with 19 pieces in instrumental pieces.
When the pieces classified into vocal pieces and instrumental pieces are classified in detail, vocal pieces may be classified into solos, part songs, choruses, and others consisted of operas and musicals; instrumental pieces may classified into solos, quartets, ensembles, concerts, and others consisted of dance music, drama music, and film musics of which the type of performance is ambiguous. 51 pieces were vocal for 172 pieces of impression music, and were all excluded at 8 varieties of textbooks. The instrumental pieces 72 pieces were put too much importance to an orchestral music ensemble for 121 pieces.
Such preponderance in the music of listening is the problem for students to meet evenly with the music of the diversified cultural areas of times. Therefore, wish the more harmonious and balanced music education may be developed at school sites by improving the problems. In relation to this fact, writers, publishers, and music teachers should continue the study on appreciation areas to improve the musical sense and creativity of students.
