羅州吳氏族譜 硏究

Abstract

나주오씨 족보의 형성에는 기본적으로 중국 족보의 역사와 성씨의 유래가 근간이었음을 밝히고 족보발간의 의의와 목적에 대해 족보서문을 통해 검토하였다. 초기족보에 대한 깊은 연구는 적은 편이지만 오히려 조선조에 다양한 각도에서 족보제작과 연구가 진행되었음을 살펴보았다. 체계적인 분석을 통해 우리나라 족보발생의 역사가 고려 이전으로 소급될 수 있는 가능성을 보았다. 관리등용과 신분제유지를 위해 족보 제작이 절대적으로 필요했음에도 불구하고 조선전기에 족보 발간이 활발하지 못한 이유는 왕실에서 적통을 유지하기 위한 적서문제, 봉군제 襲封으로 인한 재정의 고갈과 이를 방지하기 위한 족보의 소각에서 기인한다. 족보 간행의 절차는 가족의 결합이 불충분한 단계에서는 宗族내의 유력자, 특히 학식 있는 사람에 의해 개인적으로 행하여졌다. 그 결합이 강화되면서부터는 宗中代表者會議에서 修譜의 방침, 예산, 기구 등이 결정되었다. 吳氏의 족보를 한국 오성의 시조 東來說에 있어서도 각 本貫별로 상당히 차이가 있다 그 유래가 千百년이 지났고 고대 족보가 兵亂을 여러 차례 거치면서 紛失되고 燒失되어 詳考하기 어려웠을 뿐 아니라 각기 전한 바데로 기록한 연유라 하겠으나 문헌의 고증에 동국오성이 동조공파라는 것이 분명하다면 吳姓 전체의 중지를 모아 통일 하여야 할 것이다. 족보가 진정한 가치를 인정받으려면 모든 기재내용에 있어 객관적 사실 그대로의 것이어야 하며, 그 사실 하나 하나가 확실한 考證과 典據에서 나온 것이어야 한다. 진실로 족보는 崇祖의 精神과 和睦의 美德을 涵養하게 되고 忠孝節義의 정신을 일깨워 주는 倫理道德的 가치가 있는 값진 것임은 물론이거니와 거기에 담긴 큰 뜻을 永久히 기리도록 하는 데 그 본의가 있는 것일진대 족보의 진정한 가치는 사실 하나하나가 客觀的일 때 비로소 살아나는 것이다. 그런데 족보가 계급사회의 영향 하에서 전해오는 과정에서 폐쇄적인 血統의식을 조장하여 사회발전을 저해하였던 점이 있었다고는 하나 그러한 부정적인 면보다는 긍정적인 면에서 더 큰 힘을 발휘하고 있었음을 간과해서는 안 된다. 따라서 우리는 족보에 관계되는 폐단만을 들추어내어 무조건 족보를 배척하기 보다는 祖上의 훌륭한 뜻을 되새기고, 자기의 뿌리를 찾으며 同族간에 相扶相助하는 정신을 깨우쳐 주는 족보의 긍정적인 機能을 되살리는 데에 더욱 더 관심을 기울여야 하는 것이다.그리고 본고에 대한 미흡점은 지속적으로 고찰하여 보완해 나갈 것이다.|This study examined the formation and development of genealogy of Naju Oh Family comprehensively. It found that the genealogy of Naju Oh Family was derived from history and family names of Chinese genealogy, and speculated meaning and purposes of the genealogy published. There were few studies on genealogy in the beginning, but rather genealogy making was activated and many studies on it was developed in various areas of Joseon Period. It examined a possibility that the Korean history of genealogy could be retraced before Goryeo period. Though genealogy making was required to recruit new officials and maintain the class system, the genealogy publication was not active in early Joseon period because of legitimate and illegitimate children system, exhaust of finance and incineration of genealogy to prevent financial exhaust. The genealogy when union of families was not satisfactory was published by influential persons in families, especially ⅱ well-educated persons individually. When the union was reinforced, direction of genealogy, budget, and instrument were decided at conferences of family representatives . For the Dongraeseol involving Oh family, there are significant differences between family origins. 1500 years have passed after the family name was originated, and as ancient genealogy was lost and burned through several battles, serious consideration on it was difficult and it was recorded as it was. However, if it is demonstrated it is Dongjogongpa through bibliographical investigation and Donggukohsung, it should be reorganized. For recognition of true value a genealogy has, what is recorded in it should be based on objective facts, and each fact should be demonstrated through clear examination. In fact, genealogy is valuable as a moral value that promotes the spirit of respecting ancestors and awakens the mind of filial piety, royalty to king, fidelity and justice. And it is intended to honor the great intent forever. So, the true value of genealogy can be enhanced when each fact in it should be objective. However, as genealogy promoted closed blood in the process of transmission under the influence of class society, it is said that it interrupted the development of society, but it should not be overlooked that it had greater power in positive aspect. Therefore, this study suggest that we should pay more attention to revival of positive functions of genealogy that awaken the mind of mutual cooperation and help between clans rather than exclusion of genealogy by uncovering evil practices of genealogy.
