중학교 특수학급 교육과정 편성·운영의 실태 및 개선 방안 - 광주광역시와 전라남도 중학교를 중심으로

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the situations for organization and management of curriculum in special classes and to suggest the future direction about organization and management of curriculum in special classes of middle school, according to the teachers' sex, age, school location and certificates.
Eighty two teachers who are working for special classes in Gwang-ju and Chonnam province took part in this study by 2004 April 1st.
The result in organization and management of curriculum in special classes were as follows: First, two different curriculum, general and special school curriculum, were combined and edited by the teachers; Second, inclusive education curriculum except basic subject like Korean, Math were operated by general class teachers; Third, 44.3% of club activity and optional activity was performed by general class teachers; Fourth, therapeutic activity and vocational education were not operated actively; Fifth, operation of IEP was performed comparatively well; Sixth, Appropriate assessment on potential capacity of special classes' students was not made.
The future direction suggested in this finding is as follows; First, multiple researches to suggest useful materials and a lot of information should be performed by the government; Second, ordinary and special teachers have to consider the effectiveness of team teaching; Third, to develop various programs and material have to be preceded for general classes, club activity and optional activity; Fourth, to support these activities it's necessary to locate the professional therapeutic teacher and to enhance the teachers' career.
