Abstract
Dance has greatly changed and developed over history. It helps people experience beauty and contributes to the development of the human body. As the educational value of dance has com to be recognized, it has evolved into an important field of study.
In Korea, dance is included as part of the physical education program for middle school students. Courses in dance education consist of creative dance, Korean folk dance, and foreign folk dance. When developing Korean folk dance for the present dance program, it is possible for student to have opportunities to learn many kinds of dance.
I felt the need to develop a teaching method of Korean folk dance for more practical and effective dance instruction.
therefore, first, by examining and analyzing students' 'interest', 'understanding' and 'will' to learn Korean folk dance, I researched on the problem of dance teaching and future direction for effective learning.
Second, by analyzing existing class plan and materials upon the survey of present situation, I performed test classes of dance.
Third, I made an effort to make a detailed class starts. I focused on the preparation of teaching material, which contributed to the students' achievement of learning in general.
