Abstract
This study has been carried out to improve rehabilitation of auditory sense and the communication ability by using interrogative particle-training program for students who have defective auditive feedback and communication and have received artificial cochlear Implanted.
The subjects are 2 students, who have received artificial cochlear
Implant, in a middle class in I Special School in Gwangju and the instruction was carried out in the order of pre-evaluation, program application and post-evaluation.
The following are the results obtained through the experimental instruction and examination:
First, both of the students showed improvement of their auditive language understanding ability on the interrogative particle 'who' after the application of interrogative particle-training program. The subject student A showed 80% of language understanding degree in audiovisual condition and 55% in auditive condition, and B showed 95% in audiovisual condition and 80% in auditive condition.
Second, both students showed improvement of their auditive language understanding ability on the interrogative particle 'where' after the application of interrogative particle-training program. The subject student A showed 60% of language understanding degree in audiovisual condition and 40% in auditive condition, and B showed 100% in audiovisual condition and 80% in auditive condition.
Third, both students showed improvement of their auditive language understanding ability on the interrogative particle 'when' after the application of interrogative particle-training program. The subject student A showed 55% of language understanding degree in audiovisual condition and 40% in auditive condition, and B showed 100% in audiovisual condition and 80% in auditive condition.
According to the experimental results as outlined above, interrogative particle-training program proved to be effective to improve language understanding ability of the students with hearing handicaps.
