Abstract
shown in the 44th volume of 『Jabdongsani』 by "Ahn-jungbok" is the exile lyric that is written by "Cho-wi". The writer "Cho-wi"(1454-1503) with a pen name called "Maegae" was the disciple of "Kim-jongjik" and took a few official ranks with "Yoo-hoin" in the king's favor after passing the civil service examination in the 5th year(1474) of "Sung jong". While he compiled the chronicles of "Sungjong", "Kim-ilson" wrote down , written by "Kim-jongjik", in the draft. It caused "Cho-wi" to be entangled in "Muosawha" and forced to go to "Myung" as an envoy. On coming back to the country, he was arrested in "Euiju" and gone to jail, but escaped from death with the help of "Lee-keukyuen". He was transferred to "Sun-cheun" and stayed there for 5 years with writing the long lyric presenting his remorse.
shows well his sad emotions that he had no hopes and no places to depend on in the world and also his deep loyalty to the king.
is composed of three parts "prologue", "body" and "epilogue". In the story, the writer symbolized lyrical self as a separated woman to represent his loyalty to king. But the woman's character didn't appear consistent. It was because he expressed not only his loyalty to king but also his anger against the realities of exile life, which appeared in the title. In this way, the writer revealed his criticism indirectly. In , the theme is the loyalty to king but because of writer's different tone and different subject matter, this work showed totally different result.
The results of this study can be summarized as the following. First, the meaning of exile lyric and its formative background were investigated. For the study of exile lyric, a comparative study, and a writer study were applied. In a work study, the key aim of studies was to analyze the structure of work, to indent the character and meaning of the theme of work and finally to show the writer's intention of work.
Second, the composed and thinking of was looked over. The writer's life and circumstance of invention were looked over and its structure and characteristics were analyzed. Next, a few thoughts conveyed in were analysed. It appeared that there were various kinds of thought, such as Confucianism which is domiant in Chosun Dynasty, Buddhism which comes from the period of the three Kingdoms, Taoism which is born mixed with Shamanism, Buddhism, and Confucianism.
Third, was influenced from the former lyric. It showed the lover's heart and loyalty seen in the ?Sikyung? and ?Chosa?. "Cho-wi" expressed his sad destiny in comparison to "Kul-won" and "Ka-wi". Especially, 'the beauty' in the and by "Kulwon" was represented as 'nim" in the . The lives of the above writers are similar each other and got influenced in the expression. , the first exile lyric, influenced "Song gang" who wrote which was the milestone in the middle century literature with the excellent linguistic expression and stubborn loyalty. These exile lyrics came to be shown to "Kim-chuntaek" and "Lee-jinyoo".
Forth, played an important role in the blossom of the 16th Cho sun lyric literature. It was the first exile lyric and opened up the exile literature in the Cho sun literature. Also it influenced the upper class writers with the content of showing his loyalty.
The aim of this study is to analyse , an exile lyric from a synchronical and diachronic point of view. In the future, th lyric literature should be analyzed more in detail and on the whole. Not only should it be investigated in the level of comparative literature, but each lyric work should be in depth.
