Abstract

This draft has put the object in studying the change aspect of poem consciousness with focusing on the real recognition attitude that expressed in the Kim Su-yeong's poetry. For this, I've set a standard that how he expressed his writer consciousness about social reality and have divided his poems into three steps and then have studied. First, it is on the early poems in the 1940s. At this time, Kim Su-yeong has put more interest in personal life problems than social real problems at the greatly changing period since the Liberation Day. Like this, he has the passive position about the social real problems. So I regarded this period as "the reduction-intented reality." In this period, he exposed the "sorrow consciousness" that the writer had interested in personal life as the civil sadness and "the direct vision" in the recognition of social problems. The second period corresponds to the poems at the middle of 1950s and at this period he tried to recognize the social problems actively and positively by experiencing the Korean War, a national tragedy. For this reason that he regarded this period as open real point, I divided this mid-term poems into "the enlargemant - intented reality." In this period, he has made the sorrow consciousness that was caused by social real problems, such as the frustration, despair, social conflict, division condition owing to the war, and freedom consciousness as the pursuit of human life that was corresponded to the contradiction of social reality. Third, it comes to the poems at the late of 1960s. At this time, Kim Su-yeong had showed the reform will about the social reality that corresponds to the time of before and after 4.19 movement. Moreover, through the history recognition, he had participated in the social reality positively by subliming and including even the corresponding social reality. In the viewpoint that he had recognized the problems with the positive participation to the social reality, I regarded the late-term poems as "the participation-intented reality." So, this period is the time for reform that conflicting social reality and at the same time he had expressed the revolution consciousness and the love consciousness as the belief for the general public. Through this study, I've got the fact that his poetry consciousness came out in the shape of diversity and development when he tried to recognize the present social reality and solve the problems. Especially, the freedom consciousness he had experienced the national tragedy in the 1950s and had revealed the pursuit of human life that corresponds to the conflict of social reality, the revolution consciousness that planned reform about the conflicting society that was opposite and the love consciousness for the general public through the right history recognition in the before and after 4.19 movement in the 1960s are very special and valuable in our modern poetry history. Therefore, it was the undoubted result that his poetry consciousness has been connected to the clever existence in the modern poetry history and just for that purpose, I could find the essence and significance in the Kim Su-yeong's poetic spirit.
