G. F. Handel의 오라토리오 『메시아』에 관한 연구

Abstract

Hadell is the one of the most eminent virtuoso in the history of music. Especially he composed many oratorios, most prevaling music style in Baroque perid. Among his oratorios, a masterpiece is 「Messiah」, which is divided into three parts and discribing redeeming work of 「Messiah」, Jesus Christ. Among many oratorios composed by Handel, 「Messiah」is a marvelous piece of work which shows not only his great musical talent as a genius but also a humble and modest attitude to God as a human being. At that time, the Messiah was the most popular piece which all audience including the King(George II) were touched. If his operas had been great successes and his physical problems had not been occured, we would not have met this great oratorio 「Messiah」today. In this piece, Handel successfully expressed music throuh superficial descriptiveness in the text and inner symbolism. This musica reservata is one of the methods in creating vocal art in his current collegues from 16th century to Baroque rea. The great oratorio 「Messiah」is a unique and marvelous piece based on the story of the Prophets in the Old Testament and the story of the Birth, Suffering, Death, Resurrection of Jesus Christ in the New testament. For this reason, nowadays, this 「Messiah」is preformed most through the world no matter what countries and religions are and his music remains in people's mind as a great piece until in the present time.
