비점오염원 제거를 위한 ABS 여재의 성능 평가 연구

- In order to measure the filtration performance of a newly developed 3 layers ball shape filter, pilot-scale filtration experiments were carried out in this study. Fine abrasive sand was used as SS(Suspended Solids) surrogate material. Among the fine abrasive sand, particles of 63μm or less was more than 90% which satisfies the standard value of 80% or more. Two types of filter was used in this study. One is normal filter and the other is coated filter which is coated with fine abrasive sand.
Normal filter showed 70 – 92% of SS removal rate. On the other hand, the coated filter showed 87 – 98% of SS removal rate and was more effective than normal filter. Both filter showed effective.
The backwash function was excellent in both filters. 84 – 96% of the adsorbed SS on the filter was easily detached for the first 4 minutes of backwashing period and 98 – 100% of the residual SS was detached for the last 6 minutes.
Based on the particle size analysis, fine particles less than 63μm was effectively removed by the filters. This means that not only sieving effect but adsorption on the surface of the filter also occurs in this filtration experiments.
