Abstract

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart(1756-1791) work Piano Sonata on B♭Major, KV.281, one of his 18 piano sonatas, is made up of the first movement in sonata form, the second movement in binary form, and the third movement in rondo form. ‘Singing allegro’is developed into the remarkable gallant style by Mozart after he was influenced by Johann Christian Bach(1735-1782) in London. Felix Mendelssohn(1809-1847) is known as the classical romantic composer influenced by Palestrina, Bach and Händel et al. The Work of Fantasy for Piano in F♯ minor, Op.28 also shows the classical effect, and its structure has the first movement in ternary form of A-B-A, the second movement in minuet trio form, and the third in sonata form. Mendelssohn makes the slow introduction in the first movement which is popular among the composers in the late classic period, which expresses that he is romantic and puts emphasis on the beauty of the classical form. Ferruccio Benvenuto Busoni(1866-1924) places emphasis on the traditional form so that he accesses to the spirit of Bach and Mozart on the sense of Italy and tends to add the German feature. He is absorbed in arrangement from 1891 to 1901, the middle of his life, and he arranges many works of Bach. He creates 「Chaconne from Violin Partita No.2 in D minor, BWV 1004」which is his representative work in this period. Chaconne in D minor, BWV. 1004 on the theme of Bach is the continuous variation consisting of 32 variations and coda.
