Abstract

In this paper, We used a large number of data to analyzed and compared the use and the usage of fictive kinship terms of address in Korean and Chinese. And also analyzed the phenomenon of Chinese borrowing Korean fictive kinship terms of address. Through that we can understand the similarities and the differences between Korean and Chinese cultures. The contents analyzed and discussed by chapter can be described as below. In Chapter 1, As an introduction to put forward the purpose and necessity of this paper, and analyzed the preceding study on kinship terms of address and fictive kinship terms of address in Korean and Chinese. On this basis, introduced the general direction and research methods of this paper, and presents the process of this paper. In Chapter 2, We analyzed the theoretical background of kinship terms of address and fictive kinship terms of address in Korean and Chinese in preceding study. The specific content is described the concept and characteristics and contrasted the system and types of kinship terms of address in Korean and Chinese. By analyzed the problem of decide on a name and the development reasons to Establish a theoretical basis for fictive kinship terms of address in Korean and Chinese. In Chapter 3, We determine a range and contrasted the usage of fictive kinship terms of address in Korean and Chinese. We analyzed the usage of fictive kinship terms of address is based on the corpus of ‘Korean Language and Information Sharing Center in National Institute’ and ‘Chinese balanced corpus of state languge work committee’. And also analyzed the phenomenon of Chinese borrowing Korean fictive kinship terms of address with ‘Baidu’. In Chapter 4, we summed up the conclusions drawn from this paper. Trying to clarify the significance and limitation of this paper and leaving out the future subject. According to the above discussion, This paper is significant that analyzed and compared the use and the usage of fictive kinship terms of address in Korean and Chinese. Through that we can understand the similarities and the differences between Korean and Chinese cultures. However, further research is necessary to clarify the changes in usage of fictive kinship terms of address in Korean and Chinese.
