집의 상징성과 계절의 시간성을 통한 이상향 표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

Today, we live in modern times where people 's lives are changing at a rapid pace, differently day by day. We endlessly create new ideas, meet different people to compare those ideas, and try to persuade others to rank competition, while throughout the whole time being conscientious of other people’s thoughts. Throughout the busy 24-hour day, these patterns are repeated every day. In this way, actual time spent concentrating on one’s life in society is reduced progressively, and thus becomes more difficult to find time to relax, and relieve the excessive stresses, psychological pressures and anxieties. So, in order to escape from, I dream of finding an ideal that can be restore such deficiencies in our reality. Houses are a sanctuary that helps people to alleviate such sufferings and return to their reality by healing their minds and bodies through leisure, while feeling secure within those confined spaces. The place of this researcher's home is an inner sanctuary that stabilizes the mind and body, fatigued from our daily grind that we call life, constantly repeating and fiercely competing with others. The house is not just a mere building that functions as a simple residence, but rather a space of relaxation and psychological stability, by expressing the utopian ideal of the natural scenery that can be extended by expressing it with the house. Utopia is a place of imagination that does not exist. However, the change of the seasons is a routine and cyclical time flow that can be felt. Therefore, in my art works, I tried to express my own utopia (Shangri la, paradise, inner haven) as an example of ideal sanctuary that is completely imaginary. I, as a researcher express the ideal, as a world that cannot be seen, like in a fairytale and dreamy landscape with small houses and natural objects. Stability of the mind and body is expressed in various colors to match the house and the seasons accordingly, and floating and stable landscapes like islands, flower fields, trees, clouds, water, roads, ladders and bridges.A house is a place where people communicate and interact with each other in the confined limits provided within such space, it is not merely a closed space blocked by all four sides. Through these experiences, I was able to obtain a level of happiness that seemed to meet the expectations of an ideal world and I made my work based on the symbolic meaning of home, various meanings of utopia, and the cyclical flow of the seasons in my own ideal world. I would like to extend the comfort and healing that I was able to achieve through creation of such utopia to my readers by expressing my desire to escape from reality through such havens and hope that those who see my work will be happy and comfortable.| 하루가 다르게 빠른 속도로 급변하는 현대인의 삶 속에 우리는 지금을 살아가고 있다. 경쟁의 순위를 정하기 위해 타인과 나를 비교하게 되며, 쉴 새 없이 아이디어를 창출해내고 사람들을 만나고 때로는 상대방을 설득력 있게 이해시키며 다른 사람들의 눈치를 보게 된다. 그렇게 반복적인 복잡한 하루 24시간을 산다. 점점 메말라가는 사회 속에 나만의 삶을 집중하는 시간이 줄어들면서 여유를 찾기가 힘들어지고 과도한 스트레스로 심리적인 압박과 불안을 느끼게 된다. 그래서 이러한 상황을 벗어나기 위해 눈앞에 보이는 현실과 다른 안식할 수 있는 이상향을 찾아 꿈꾸기도 한다. 안식처는 사람들의 여유와 안정을 통해 심신을 치유해 줌으로써 현실로 다시 복귀할 수 있게 도와준다. 본 연구자는 현실을 경험하고 느끼면서 안정 과 여유를 가질 수 있는 곳을 찾았다. 그것은 멀리서 찾을 필요 없이 우리의 일상생활을 하는‘집’이라는 곳이다. 본 연구자의 집이라는 곳은 현실의 안식처이고 꿈꿀 수 있는 이상향을 연결해 준다. 그리고 외부로부터 끊임없이 반복되고 치열하게 경쟁을 하는 지친 삶에서 한 줄기의 빛이자 심신의 안정을 만들어주는 공간이다. 집은 단순한 주거 기능을 하는 건축물이 아닌 휴식을 취하고 심리적인 안정을 느끼는 자신만의 공간이다. 계절의 변화는 현실에서 느낄 수 있는 일상이며 시간의 흐름이다. 이러한 현실에서 찾아볼 수 없는 상상의 장소와 현실에서 피부로 느낄 수 있는 계절의 흐름을 연결시켜 이상향인 자신만의 유토피아를 그림으로 표현하였다. 이상향은 현실에서 찾아볼 수 없는 상상의 장소이다. 이곳들은 그들의 소망 과 동경에서 나온 보고 싶은 곳이다. 이상향이라는 장소의 예는 유토피아, 파라다이스, 무릉도원 등과 같은 이상적이고 완전한 상상 세계이고 현실에서 존재하지 않은 장소로 뜻한다. 본 연구자는 이상향을 동화적이고 몽환적인 풍경에 작은 집과 자연물로 이루어 현실에서 볼 수 없는 이상적인 세계를 표현하였다. 특히 본 연구자는 떠 있는 섬, 꽃밭, 나무, 구름, 물, 길, 사다리, 다리, 등으로 이루어진 풍경들은 여유와 안정을 가질 수 있는 장소를 집들과 계절에 맞는 다양한 색채로 심신의 안정을 느낄 수 있도록 했다. 집은 사방이 막힌 단절된 공간이 아니라 그 공간 안에서 서로 소통하며 교류하는 공간이다. 그리고 이러한 경험들을 통하여 실제로 이상적 세계를 마주 본 것 같은 행복감을 가지게 되었다. 본 연구자는 본인의 연구를 통하여 집의 상징적 의미와 유토피아의 다양한 의미들 그리고 계절의 시간의 흐름을 나만의 이상 세계를 바탕으로 작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구자는 본인은 작품을 통하여 현실을 벗어나고 싶은 동경을 표출하여 만들어진 자신만의 유토피아 만들면서 스스로가 치유할 수 있었고 보는 이들도 공감을 얻고 행복하고 편안했으면 하는 위로를 건네고 싶다.
